Hawaii is the only state with a unified education system. Its Education Bureau consists of 14 people, of whom 13 people are elected every four years, and the remaining one is a student representative. The Education Bureau mainly decides the education policy in Hawaii and employs inspectors to supervise the Ministry of Education. The Ministry of Education is divided into seven school districts, four of which are located in Oahu and three in other counties.
