Research direction of Ling Yaoji
1, Art. The main viewpoints put forward by Mr. Ling in the field of art are as follows: ① Applied art should be incorporated into the discipline system of art. Applied art refers to the concrete application of artistic principles in the field of practice, which is juxtaposed with theoretical art. In recent years, the booming cultural industry in China has provided a broad world for the combination of artistic theory and social practice. Cultural industries are mostly art industries. Mr. Ling advocates expanding the core of cultural industry-artistic creativity to the whole economic level of the country, so that artistic theory can serve the economic development of the country and the region. In this regard, Mr. Ling has published papers such as "The Art Diagnosis of Enterprise Transformation" and "The Prospect of Master of Arts Becoming a" New MBA ",and gave lectures on" Artistic Creativity and China's Economic Transformation "in 37 units including Peking University, Wuhan University and Tongji University. (2) Just as aesthetics is divided into three branches-aesthetic principle, Chinese aesthetic history and western aesthetic history, art theory should also be divided into artistic principle, China art history and western art history. The research on the latter two fields is still blank in China. Mr. Ling is writing the history of China's art research.

2. aesthetics. Mr. Ling's aesthetic research involves the following fields: ① Western aesthetics. His main works include History of Western Aesthetics (555,000 words, reprinted by Peking University Press in 2006, 2004) and Aesthetics from Ancient Greece and Rome to the Middle Ages (665,438 words, co-authored with Xu Hengchun, with Ling as the first author, China Social Sciences Press, 2005). Mr. Ling Yao Ji regards History of Western Aesthetics as his masterpiece. The book "Aesthetic Principles" recently published by the famous aesthetician in China and the dean of Peking University Art College lists the "main bibliography", among which there are only two works about the history of western aesthetics: Zhu Guangqian's History of Western Aesthetics (Volumes I and II) and Ling's History of Western Aesthetics (Author: Aesthetic Principles, Peking University Publishing House, 2009, p. 453). (2) Aesthetic principles, the main works are Fifteen Lectures on Aesthetics (Peking University Publishing House, 2003 edition, 65438+the 00th printing in 2009). The traditional Chinese version of this book was published by Wu Nan Publishing House in Taiwan Province Province in 2007 and sold in new york Bookstore in the United States, which sold out quickly. When Mr. Ling visited new york in June 2008, the Chinese community in new york organized a seminar on Professor Ling's aesthetics, which was reported by Overseas Chinese News, Ming Pao and World Journal. ③ The idea of constructing aesthetic economics was first put forward in China. Li Siqu, a professor and doctoral supervisor at Zhejiang University, pointed out in the article "The Essential Characteristics of Aesthetic Economy and Cultural Creative Industries" that "in March 2006, Journal of Southeast University published an interview with Mr. Ling by Ji Xin, in which Mr. Ling formally put forward the idea of constructing' Aesthetic Economics' ... When talking about cultural creative industries, Peking University and Ye Lang not only used the concept of grand aesthetic economy, but also expounded it. Moreover, it also directly quoted two pieces of materials in this interview in which Ling constructed the idea of' aesthetic economics'. It can be seen that Mr. Ling's interview has attracted the attention of mainstream academic circles. " (Journal of Southwest University for Nationalities, No.8, 2007) Mr. Ling's book "Research on Economic Aesthetics" will be published soon, which introduces the idea of "enterprise aesthetic management" put forward by Schmidt, a professor at Columbia University Business School in the United States, and initially constructs the model of enterprise aesthetic management in China.

3. Design Art. The main works are Art Design (co-authored with Xu Hengchun and Ling as the first author, Shanghai People's Publishing House, 2000 edition, third printing in 2004 and second printing in 2006) and Fifteen Lectures on Art Design (edited by Peking University Publishing House, 2006 edition and third printing in 2009). The main point raised by Mr. Ling in this field is that industrial design is not only the design of products, but also the design of industrial chain. Industrial chain can also be called value chain. Nowadays, the competition among enterprises is not only the competition of products, but also the competition of value chain. Professor Michael Porter of the United States analyzed the source of competitive advantage of enterprises from the perspective of value chain composition. He believes that the value chain of each enterprise consists of three main links: one is the technical link, the other is the production link, and the third is the marketing link. According to the flow procedure of product entities in each link of the value chain, in terms of value-added ability, the above three links present a U-shape from high to low and then to high, also known as the value chain smile curve. The transformation of industrial design from product design to industrial chain design is of great practical significance to China's economic transformation.

So far, Mr. Ling has enrolled 40 doctoral students, and two doctoral dissertations have won excellent doctoral dissertations in Jiangsu Province. Some doctoral students become principals, professors and members of the teaching guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education.
