Badminton, as a popular sport, is also very popular among college students in China. Outdoor badminton is a new badminton event developed by BWF on the basis of traditional badminton. At present, there are many researches on traditional badminton at home and abroad, but few on outdoor badminton. Therefore, this paper analyzes the feasibility of outdoor badminton in Chinese universities, points out the problems that need to be solved in the application process, and provides theoretical support for the vigorous development of outdoor badminton in Chinese universities.

First, the feasibility of outdoor badminton in colleges and universities in China

(1) Outdoor badminton has a strong mass base.

In recent years, with the opening and popularization of physical education elective courses in colleges and universities, badminton has become one of the favorite sports of college students. Badminton has a strong mass base in colleges and universities, and outdoor badminton, as an "enhanced version" of badminton, is bound to be loved by college students. At the same time, college students have a strong ability to accept new things, which is easy for outdoor badminton to get started and master.

(2) The requirements for venues and facilities are not high, which is conducive to the development of colleges and universities.

At present, many colleges and universities in China are not equipped with special badminton venues, and badminton teaching needs to be crowded with other sports, which leads to poor badminton teaching effect; However, some colleges and universities have indoor badminton courts, but because of the large number of students, the demand for venues is also in short supply; There are also some colleges and universities that open their indoor badminton halls to the outside world for profit. Due to the limitation of badminton venues in colleges and universities, the enthusiasm of college students to participate in badminton is reduced, while outdoor badminton can improve the utilization rate of school venues as long as the ground is flat.

Second, outdoor badminton in China's colleges and universities to carry out the problems

At present, football, volleyball, basketball and badminton are very popular in China. The reasons are as follows: First, football, volleyball, basketball and badminton have a high popularity in the world; Secondly, football, volleyball, basketball and badminton have a complete competition system, and there is no shortage of professionals and related talents. Outdoor badminton needs a certain competition to develop in colleges and universities. If outdoor badminton can have a relatively complete competition system, then the number of people participating in outdoor badminton will continue to increase. There will be more and more opportunities for the public to know and understand outdoor badminton, thus accelerating the development of outdoor badminton in colleges and universities.
