The predecessor of Sichuan Agricultural University is Sichuan Tongsheng Agricultural School, which was founded in 1906. It was merged into Sichuan University twice in 1927 and 1935. 1956, the Agricultural College of Sichuan University moved to Ya 'an, the former capital of Xikang Province, and established Sichuan Agricultural College. 1985, it was renamed Sichuan Agricultural University.
As of March 2023, the school has three campuses, namely Ya 'an, Chengdu (Wenjiang) and Dujiangyan, with a total area of about 4,500 mu and a collection of 6,543,800+057,900 books (pieces); There are 26 colleges, 15 research institutes (centers) and 76 undergraduate enrollment majors.
