Is there a university on a chip?
The increasingly fierce scientific and technological competition between China and the United States finally penetrated into the chip industry. In the field of chips, China is a leading country in chip technology, especially the emergence of Huawei's HiSilicon Kirin chip, which is fully capable of wrestling with American giants such as Qualcomm and Apple. However, Huawei, like Qualcomm and Apple, is only a chip design enterprise. Processing PPT into finished chips cannot be separated from American chip manufacturing technology. It is precisely because of the chip ban that Huawei's chip supply chain is damaged, which is also an unfortunate thing for the whole domestic chip.

You know, China is a big importer of chips. According to the data published before, China imports far more chips than oil, and the rapid development of science and technology in China needs a large number of chips as the driving force. In order to solve the problem of high-end chips stuck in the neck, the Chinese Academy of Sciences took the lead and announced that it would pool all its efforts to solve the problems in mask aligner. Huawei also announced that it will fully take root in semiconductors. To solve the problem of semiconductors, we must solve the problems of mask aligner and photoetching materials. Whether at home or abroad, there is a great demand for high-end talents in these links, and the talent gap is very serious.

It is for these reasons that Ren, the founder of Huawei, visited four universities in three days last July. The purpose is simple, that is, to tap and reserve talents in the fields of chips and promote the "localization" of chips. Soon after, the first chip university in China, Nanjing Integrated Circuit University, was formally established. At present, the chip university is still cooperating with HiSilicon, SMIC and other companies.

On April 22nd, another domestic chip research institute was established, and the Tsinghua University Integrated Circuit Research Institute was officially unveiled, which is really great news for the chip industry in China! The purpose of the establishment of Tsinghua University Chip Institute is very simple, that is, to cultivate high-level chip talents, hoping to quickly solve the problem of chip "stuck". As we all know, Tsinghua University is the leading institution of higher learning in China. It can be said that it has been recognized by the world for a hundred years with a wealth of talents and fruitful results, and Tsinghua University itself has a discipline foundation of integrated circuits.

According to public information, 1956 set up semiconductor specialty in Tsinghua, 1980 set up microelectronics research institute, electronics and nanoelectronics in 2004, and chip technology innovation center in 20 15. At the same time, Ziguang Group is also a subsidiary of Tsinghua University, with rich semiconductor experience. It can be said that Tsinghua University chip has accumulated all certain technologies.

Before the chip ban fell, Microsoft founder Bill Gates publicly voiced that the chip ban would force China to make its own chips, which meant that some people in the United States would lose high-paying jobs in the future, while China would be self-sufficient. I have to say that Bill Gates is right.

The practice of the United States has indeed brought trouble to many enterprises, which has caused them to lose big customers like Huawei and SMIC, and seriously affected their income and profits. China consumes about 50% of the chips in the world every year. Every chip order will bring huge profits to the United States, and the import of domestic chip companies will be blocked. The United States, which is dominated by the tertiary industry, is naturally affected to a great extent.

With the establishment of Nanjing Semiconductor University and Tsinghua University Chip Research Institute, I believe there will be good news soon, and domestic chips will inevitably rise!
