1970, Wade became the Dean of the School of Law and Economics of Dakar University. 1974 founded the democratic party of Senegal and served as general secretary. 1978 to 1983 were members of the serbian national assembly, 199 1 to 1992 were ministers of state in the government, and 1995 to 1998 were ministers of state in the presidential palace. In March 2000, Wade was elected President of Senegal and was sworn in in April. In March 2007, Wade won the presidential election and was re-elected as the next president.
From June 2, 2006 to June 26, 2006, President Wade paid a state visit to China and came to China to attend the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
