National Chung Cheng University is a national comprehensive university. It was founded by Jiangxi provincial government on June 1940 in Taihe County, the temporary provincial capital. The first president was Hu Xiansu, a famous plant taxonomist. The name of a university is taken from the important idea of China traditional culture, that is, "to be big and to be middle". After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, National Chung Cheng University moved to Nanchang. 1949 In September, National Chung Cheng University was renamed as National Nanchang University and merged into Jiangxi Institute of Technology, Agricultural College, Physical Education College and Water (Profit) College. 1950 10 was directly called to Nanchang University. There are five colleges, namely, School of Politics, School of Literature and Art, School of Science, School of Engineering and College of Agriculture, with 16 departments. 1952 Agricultural College was renamed Jiangxi Agricultural College (now Jiangxi Agricultural University).

Jiangxi Normal University was not established on the basis of teachers' departments or disciplines, because teachers' departments did not have school buildings, books, materials, instruments and equipment, or even formed their own teaching staff. According to the staff records of Nanchang University 1952 from June 5438 to February 65438, the directors of eight subjects (including Chinese, history, geography, education, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and physical education) in the teachers' department are also the directors of related disciplines in the grammar school, science school and physical education department, that is, these eight subjects belong to other colleges. The former Nanchang University reserved 75 teachers for Jiangxi Normal University, of which 79% were teachers of law, and only 16 were teachers of normal university, including 6 teachers of fine arts, accounting for 38%. Zhuo, former dean of the School of Science of Nanchang University, Gu Jiguang, deputy provost, Xiong Huaqi, deputy director of service, Peng Xianyin, director of the Department of Mathematics, Ouyang Chen, acting director of the Department of Literature and History, and Liu Tianlang and Wu Shidong, directors of the Department of Art, left Jiangxi Normal University, but Ren Yan, director of the Department of Normal Education, did not stay and transferred to South China Normal University. Jiangxi Normal University was renamed Jiangxi Normal University 1983 in June.

Jiangxi University was founded in 1958, and the Biology Department of Jiangxi Normal University was merged into Jiangxi University. 1993 In May, Jiangxi University and Jiangxi University of Technology founded in 1958 merged to form the new Nanchang University.

Jiangxi Normal University is the direct successor of the former National Chung Cheng University, but its spirit, history and name are gone.

After the National Government moved to Taiwan, Chung Cheng University's expectation of returning to school in the hearts of former alumni never weakened. Relevant units have also repeatedly recruited these old alumni to discuss the resumption of schooling and hold more dinners to raise funds. It is purely coincidental that the name is the same as that of the former National Chung Cheng University. It is not that the former National Chung Cheng University resumed its studies in Taiwan Province Province. " . However, in the history of its school magazine, there are often so-called "prospective alumni" and outstanding alumni introductions, and Chinese mainland's alumni achievements are often mentioned to encourage "schoolmates".
