Kunming University of Arts and Science is located in Kunming, Yunnan Province. It is a private full-time undergraduate college approved by the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Education. It is a provincial civilized school and a provincial safe school in Yunnan Province. It is one of the first three universities in China to recruit minority preparatory classes.

The school has 12 secondary colleges (departments), offering 4/kloc-0 undergraduate majors, covering eight disciplines, namely science, engineering, agriculture, economics, literature, management, teaching and arts, with more than 720 mu of students17,000.

The school has two campuses, Longquan Campus is located in the middle of Longquan Road in the north of Kunming, and Yanglin Campus is located in Kunming Songming Vocational Education New City, which is 0/5 minutes' drive from Changshui International Airport/KLOC-.
