Born in 1932, Ningbo, Zhejiang. 1954 graduated from Peking University physics department, 196 1 graduated from Leningrad university, Soviet Union, with an associate doctor. Some laws of NMR chemical shifts in crystals and solutions were found in early spectroscopic studies. Later, it developed into the first atomic clock in China. The rubidium atomic clock he developed is the only one mass-produced in China. Leading achievements have also been made in the research of fast atomic frequency standard and optically pumped speed frequency standard. Awards:

1978, optical pump rubidium bubble frequency standard, State Science and Technology Commission, Science Conference Award.

199303, frequency standard of optically pumped cesium beam, Chinese physics society, Rao Yutai physics prize.

1994 12, frequency standard research, Guanghua foundation, Guanghua science and technology fund award.

1986, principle of quantum frequency standard, science press,

1964, study on standard chemical shift of nuclear magnetic resonance, journal of physics,

198 1, Mohora-Na transition in cesium beam tube, Journal of Metrology.

Well-known experts in the field of spectroscopy and quantum frequency standard in China discovered some laws of NMR chemical shift in crystals and solutions in the early stage of spectroscopy research. Later, it developed into the first atomic clock in China. The rubidium atomic clock he developed is the only one mass-produced in China. Leading achievements have also been made in the research of fast atomic frequency standard and optically pumped speed frequency standard. His book Principle of Quantum Frequency Standard has an important influence in this field. There are more than 70 scientific papers.

Professor Wang has been engaged in the research of spectroscopy and quantum electronics in Peking University for many years, and he first discovered the chemical shift law of NMR in fluoride crystals and its relationship with the shift value in solution. 1965 presided over the successful development of China's first atomic clock-optically pumped cesium bubble atomic frequency standard, which made important contributions to China's national defense, aerospace, communications, metrology and other undertakings. He also presided over the development of the first batch of optically pumped rubidium atomic clocks in China. This high-tech achievement has played an important role in many national defense scientific research experiments in China and was awarded a major achievement award by 1978 National Science Conference. Because of the long-term performance of the frequency standard of laser pumped cesium beam, it was awarded the Rao Yutai Physics Prize by the Chinese Physics Society in 1993. His research group has made many domestic leading achievements in laser cooling and trapping atoms, such as obtaining cesium magneto-optical traps, optical clusters and atomic fountains for the first time, and stably realizing Bose-Einstein condensation of rubidium atoms and atomic masers. Principle of Quantum Frequency Standard is the first basic work in the field of time frequency standard in China. There are more than 100 scientific papers.

Wang Yizhen is not only an outstanding natural scientist in China, but also a famous higher education management expert and educator. Adhering to the rigorous academic style of Peking University and taking educational innovation as its own responsibility, he has made outstanding achievements in teaching reform, scientific and technological personnel training, scientific research organization and higher education management, and has written two sets of "On Learning and Teaching". He won the second prize of national excellent teaching achievement twice and was rated as an advanced worker in the national education system.
