Summary of management information system teaching materials
This book is a textbook for the 12th Five-Year Plan of general higher education. It comprehensively and systematically expounds the basic theory, development method, management strategy, application field and selection skills of management information system from the dual perspective of "society-technology".

The book is divided into five chapters: The first chapter is the basic theory, which simply but systematically summarizes and expounds the related concepts, basic management theories and related information technologies in the field of management information system (MIS); The second chapter is the system development chapter, which introduces the development process, methods and strategies of MIS in detail, including the planning, analysis, design and implementation of MIS system. The third chapter is system management, which aims to help readers realize effective management of online systems, including MIS operation management, system evaluation and secondary development. The fourth chapter is the chapter of system application, which introduces the typical forms of MIS in practical application fields, including DSS, ERP system, CR M system, KMS, e-commerce and e-government system. The fifth chapter is system selection, which aims to help readers who try to implement MIS through outsourcing choose and choose appropriate system products, including the elements, principles, strategies and steps of MIS selection.

This book is the crystallization of MIS teaching and scientific research work of many university teachers. The whole book is complete and reasonable in structure, informative and rich in content, combining theory with practice, and echoing management and application. It can be used as a teaching material for undergraduate or graduate students majoring in information management and information system, e-commerce, management science and engineering, business administration and computer application. It can also be used as a reference for practitioners in related fields. Since its publication in August 2008, the first edition of this book has been reprinted five times. Here, first of all, thank the readers and friends for their affirmation and praise; At the same time, I would like to thank those friends who put their ideas into action for the improvement and perfection of this book.

In the past six years, we have carefully reviewed and carefully examined the contents of the book in the process of our own use, and found problems or deficiencies in time; At the same time, we also cherish every opportunity to collect opinions or suggestions that are beneficial to the improvement of this book through various channels. On this basis, make full use of the opportunity of each reprint of the textbook and constantly revise and improve it. It is our work, and we carefully carve it; It is the crystallization of collective wisdom, and we cherish it.

Management is a multi-disciplinary and flexible humanities discipline. In recent years, the rapid changes in micro, meso and even macro environment have promoted management to adapt to changes and keep pace with the times. On the other hand, the field of information technology (IT) represented by broadband network, big data, cloud computing, mobile commerce and intelligent decision-making is developing with each passing day. Management informatization is the basic way to improve the efficiency and effect of management activities. Under the dual function of internal demand of management system and external technology drive, management informatization has realized two-dimensional evolution of breadth and depth. In the above process, the related knowledge and technology of management information system (MIS) have made new development and progress in both theoretical research and practical application.

In our time, "change"-changeable, fast-changing, big-changing, weak rules and even irregular changes, has become its distinctive feature. Change breeds opportunities and promotes progress, but it also reduces the environmental adaptability of knowledge and shortens the life cycle. In order to further enhance the activity and adaptability of this textbook, with the strong support and cooperation of China Electric Power Press, we revised it again.

In order to ensure the continuity and inheritance of the book's growth, the reprinted textbook still follows the chapter structure of the first edition, which consists of five chapters, including the basic theory of management information system, system development, system management, system application and system selection. 17. Each chapter inherits the mature contents of the first edition of this book for six years, and corrects the newly discovered shortcomings and even fallacies; At the same time, it also supplemented the emerging related theories, technologies and methods, adjusted some knowledge points that have changed and evolved, and deleted some outdated contents.

The second edition of this book is edited by the School of Management and Engineering of Zhengzhou University, with Wu Jilan from the School of Information Management and Engineering of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and Yuan from the Business School of Guilin University of Electronic Technology as deputy editors. Other teachers who participated in the compilation of this book are Liu from School of Economics and Management of Nanchang Hangkong University, Yang Lan from School of Management and Engineering of Zhengzhou University, Wen Dandan from E-commerce Department of Henan Animal Husbandry School of Economics, Ye from School of Business Administration of Xinyang Normal University and Zhang Xiang from School of Management of Shanghai University. Among them, he wrote the first, second, third, fourth and fifteenth chapters, Wu Jilan wrote the fifth, sixth and seventh chapters, Yuan wrote the eighth, ninth and tenth chapters, and wrote the eleventh and twelfth chapters. Wen Dandan and Ye wrote the thirteenth and fourteenth chapters respectively (the first edition was written by Zhang Xiang), and Liu wrote the sixteenth chapter.

Textbooks are the systematic induction and presentation of mature knowledge systems in established fields. In the process of compiling the first and second editions of this book, some excellent reference materials gave us deep inspiration. Here, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the authors of these documents. Thanks to China Electric Power Press for its strong support for the second edition of this book. Finally, once again, I would like to pay tribute to Professor Liu Zhongying, an expert in management information system and School of Economics and Management of Tongji University, and thank her for her careful guidance and consistent support to the author of this book.

..... Marx once pointed out that any subject can only be regarded as a mature subject if it is well combined with mathematics. "Science and technology are the primary productive forces". Since the middle and late 20th century, with the rapid development of information technology (IT), all levels and fields of people's production and life have been deeply influenced by it, and the scope and intensity of the influence have been further increased. Therefore, we can boldly predict that in the near future, any subject will develop more vigorously only if it is well integrated and effectively used. Management discipline is no exception, it keeps pace with the integration and development of information technology, which is one of the important reasons for the steady improvement of the efficiency and effect of modern management.

Management information system plays an important role in the theoretical research and practical application of management informatization. It organically integrates modern management theory with advanced information technology, and at the same time, it integrates the nutrients and essence of systems science, behavioral science, economics, operational research, statistics and many other disciplines, and becomes an indispensable basic platform for modern enterprise management. Driven by huge practical benefits and application potential, the teaching and scientific research of management information system has always been in an important position in the construction of pan-management specialty in colleges and universities, and has been widely concerned. In China alone, the management information system textbooks published in recent years show a situation in which a hundred flowers blossom and a hundred schools of thought contend. Every textbook is infused with the author's sweat, which is the crystallization of his hard work and hard study, and has its shining side. However, these textbooks have some shortcomings in the completeness of the system or the rationality of the content arrangement. In fact, due to the limitations of subjective and objective factors, this is inevitable. For readers, what they need to learn and understand is the course Management Information System, not just one of the textbooks. At present and even in the future, no textbook can fully represent the course "Management Information System". This requires readers to read widely, dabble in many aspects, be diligent in thinking and learn from each other's strengths.

As college teachers, we have gradually produced and accumulated new experience, knowledge and understanding in the teaching and scientific research of management information system, and with the passage of time, we have the desire and impulse to get it off our chest. So, several teachers from Zhengzhou University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai University, Guilin University of Electronic Technology and Nanchang Hangkong University got together to express their opinions, brainstorm and work together, and * * * jointly compiled this textbook. On the one hand, I hope to meet the needs of readers of management information system. On the other hand, I also hope that it can become a small flower in the hundred gardens of management information system teaching materials, and bloom its own unique posture and color.

The book is divided into five chapters, *** 17. 1 is the basic theory, including three chapters: management introduction to information systems, MIS management foundation and MIS technology foundation. Firstly, according to the idea of "information system → information system → management information system", the basic knowledge of management information system is briefly expounded. Then, for the MIS system with "social-technical" dual attributes, which combines management concepts with information technology, the related knowledge is summarized and introduced from two aspects: management foundation and technical foundation. The second chapter is system development, including five chapters: overview of MIS system development, MIS system planning, MIS system analysis, MIS system design and MIS system implementation. This paper first introduces the connotation, subject, methods, principles and common methods of MIS system development, and then discusses the related matters of MIS system development project management from the perspective of project management. In the next four chapters, according to the life cycle theory of MIS system development, the planning, analysis, design and implementation of MIS system are analyzed and explained in detail. The third chapter is system management, including MIS operation management and MIS system evaluation and secondary development. This paper makes a comprehensive and in-depth analysis and introduction of the operation and management methods and strategies of online MIS system, the contents and methods of system evaluation and the related matters of system secondary development. The fourth chapter is the system application. Firstly, the application level and typical application fields of MIS system are analyzed and summarized, and then the typical application mode of MIS system in enterprise management practice is introduced and discussed. This paper includes six chapters: application level and application field of MIS system, decision support system, ERP system, CRM system, knowledge management system and e-commerce and e-government system. The fifth chapter is about system selection, which discusses the "special" but very common phenomenon of "implementing MIS system through outsourcing rather than self-development or cooperative development", including the elements, principles, methods, strategies and implementation steps of MIS selection.
