Xiamen Institute of Technology is a full-time undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. It is a key construction institution and a first-class discipline construction institution in Fujian Province.

The school's predecessor was Lujiang Vocational University founded by 198 1. 1987 Xiamen Vocational and Economic College merged. In 2004, it was upgraded and renamed Xiamen Institute of Technology with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
20 1 1 became the "excellent engineer education and training plan" of the Ministry of Education and the first batch of "national pilot universities for postgraduate education with special needs". 20 12 successfully passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education.
