Beijing Information Science and Technology University was formed by the merger of Beijing Institute of Mechanical Engineering, which belonged to the former Mechanical Department, and Beijing Institute of Information Technology, which belonged to the former Electronic Department. Its history can be traced back to the 1930s, and it is a relatively complete information science university supported by Beijing.
Xiaoying Campus is the main campus of Beijing Information Science and Technology University. The other four campuses are Qinghe, Jianxiang Bridge, Saxian Bridge and Quantai Road. Due to the influence of surrounding geography, the main campus area is not very large, but the facilities and equipment are the best among these campuses.
