Sichuan University, located in Chengdu, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education. The school was formed by the merger of Sichuan University, Chengdu University of Science and Technology and West China University of Medical Sciences.
Sichuan University was founded by Lu, governor of Sichuan Province, during Guangxu period. The former Chengdu University of Science and Technology was the first batch of engineering colleges established in 1952 when the departments were adjusted. The former West China University of Medical Sciences originated from the West China Union Medical College founded by western church organizations in Chengdu in 19 10. 1994, the former Sichuan University and the former Ke Cheng University merged into Sichuan United University; In 2000, it merged with the former West China University of Medical Sciences to form a new Sichuan University.
Sichuan University has 23 academicians of the two academies, and the discipline 16 has entered the A category of discipline evaluation. Sichuan University ranks A+ in stomatology, claiming to be the first in Asia.
