The college has basically formed a teaching staff with active academic thinking, reasonable academic structure, age structure, professional title structure and degree structure. In 2008, there were 59 faculty members and 46 full-time teachers, including professors 12 (including 2 doctoral supervisors), associate professors 14 and 20 lecturers and teaching assistants. There are 23 doctoral degree teachers and 9 master degree teachers, accounting for 50% and19.6% of full-time teachers respectively; 1 1% teachers are studying for doctoral degrees, 17.4% teachers have postdoctoral research experience, 15% teachers have overseas study experience. The average age of teachers in the hospital is 39 years old, and teachers aged 36 to 45 account for 53.2%.

Among the teachers, there are 1 person subsidized by the State Council, 1 person who is a member of the teaching committee of basic chemistry courses in colleges and universities of the Ministry of Education, 2 candidates for the cross-century "100 million talents project" in Hubei Province, and 1 person who is an outstanding expert in Wuhan. Eight experts respectively serve as vice-chairmen and directors of 16 academic groups.

In addition, the college has hired many well-known experts and scholars as part-time and visiting professors, including Professor Liu Jian from the School of Pharmacy of the University of North Carolina, Professor Mao Haiquan from Johns Hopkins University, Professor Saburo Amato from the Japanese National protein Institute and Professor Alain Dufresne from the French National University of Science and Technology.
