From 65438 to 0959, the Central Military Commission decided to change the training target of the college to military engineers engaged in research, design and manufacturing, and implemented the policy of concentrating cutting-edge specialties and dispersing conventional specialties. The expansion of the college began with 1960. The departments that have been adjusted, merged and newly built include: Air Force Engineering I, Atomic Engineering II, Naval Engineering III, Electronic Engineering IV, Missile Engineering V, and 1966 added 6 computer departments. The four departments of artillery, armored force, engineering and chemical defense were transferred from the college and the engineering college of related services and arms was established. The artillery engineering department moved to Wuchang, merged with Wuchang Advanced Ordnance Technical School, and established the Artillery Engineering College, and soon moved to Nanjing (now Nanjing University of Science and Technology); The Department of Armored Forces Engineering moved to Xi 'an and established the Academy of Armored Forces Engineering. The engineering department moved to Xi 'an, and then moved back to Beijing to set up the Academy of Engineering. The Atomic Defense Department moved to Changchun and established the Engineering Research Institute of the Chemical Defense Corps (now the Chemical Defense Command Engineering Research Institute). The two majors of airport architecture and meteorology of the Air Force Engineering Department were handed over to the Air Force Meteorological School. 1966 In April, according to the decision of the State Council and the Central Military Commission, the school was renamed Harbin Engineering University, and all the soldiers collectively changed jobs. The college changed its system and withdrew from the military sequence. 1970, the State Council and the Central Military Commission decided that the naval engineering department of Harbin Institute of Technology was fully established, and some cadres and teachers from other organs and departments of the former military industry were transferred to the leadership of the Sixth Ministry of Machinery Industry (later China Shipbuilding Corporation) to establish Harbin Institute of Shipbuilding Engineering (now Harbin Engineering University) in the original site of Harbin military industry. Electronic engineering, missile engineering, computer engineering, basic courses, colleges and other departments moved to Changsha and established Changsha Institute of Technology (now National University of Defense Technology). 1970, Harbin military industry disintegrated in the organizational system.
