Brigham Young University Song and Dance Troupe was established by the School of Music of Brigham Young University in cooperation with the dance department of the school. Brigham Young University Song and Dance Troupe is composed of many singers, dancers and musicians, and its musicals are full of energy and enthusiasm, thus winning people's praise.
1970, the troupe made its first international performance at the 70th World Expo in Osaka, Japan. Since then, it has performed in the United States and 56 other countries. The troupe is the first performance group of Brigham Young University to visit China, Viet Nam, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Russian Federation, Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco.
In 2000, the troupe gave wonderful performances in 19 cities in six states in the United States, and toured in the Russian Far East and Japan 17 cities in 2000/0. During 1998, the group also performed in Botswana, Swaziland and South Africa, and toured Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore during 1999.
In 2002, Brigham Young University Song and Dance Troupe participated in the performance of the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, USA, and then performed Broadway rhythm in Oregon and Washington State, British Columbia and Alberta, Canada, which was highly praised.
In 2005, the troupe performed frequently, covering Utah, Colorado and New Mexico, as well as China and South Korea. In 2004, the delegation completed a four-week tour in seven cities in southern Brazil and four cities in Argentina, which received enthusiastic response.
In February and March, 2006, Brigham Young University Song and Dance Troupe performed in eight cities in Arizona. In April and May of 2006, it performed in 12 cities in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Illinois.
