What does student insurance cover?
Student insurance, also known as Xue Ping insurance and student safety insurance, is a kind of insurance with low premium, wide coverage and high security designed for students. It is an effective tool for schools to strengthen safety management and transfer risks, an effective means for students' families to resist personal risks, and an effective supplement to social insurance.

Generally speaking, student insurance is not a single type of insurance, but a customized underwriting method or a combined package of products, which generally includes accident insurance, accident medical insurance and hospitalization medical insurance. Some student insurance also includes critical illness insurance and guardian liability insurance. From the content of protection, these types of insurance and responsibilities are mainly aimed at the risk protection of accidents and diseases.

Accident protection:

1. Accidental injury: In case of death or disability due to accidental injury, the insured amount shall be paid in one lump sum (the insured amount shall be paid in proportion to the disability). If he dies of accidental drowning, he shall pay according to the insured amount;

2. Accidental injury medical treatment: For outpatient or inpatient medical treatment caused by accidents, the corresponding medical expenses shall be reimbursed (the rest after medical insurance and other compensation shall be reimbursed according to the agreed proportion after deducting the deductible). Emergency and hospitalization expenses incurred by students accidentally falling in public hospitals.

Disease protection:

1. Hospitalization due to illness: those who are hospitalized due to illness will be reimbursed for the corresponding medical expenses (the rest after medical insurance and other compensations will be reimbursed according to the agreed proportion after deducting deductibles). For example, the hospitalization expenses incurred by students in public hospitals due to pneumonia;

2. Major diseases: Once the major diseases agreed in the contract are diagnosed, the insured amount will be paid in one lump sum. Students suffering from leukemia will be paid according to the insured amount.

Some student insurance also includes specific infectious diseases, guardian responsibilities and other protection contents.

On the whole, medical insurance is the basic guarantee, and student insurance cannot replace medical insurance. Insurance such as hospitalization in student insurance needs to be reimbursed by medical insurance first, and the part after reimbursement can be solved by student insurance, so we must remember to apply for medical insurance for urban and rural residents every year.
