List of universities named after provinces
Up to now, there are 3 1 provinces (cities and autonomous regions) in China, of which only 5 provinces have no universities directly named after provinces, specifically: Fujian, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Shaanxi and Gansu.
The other 26 universities named after provinces can be roughly divided into the following four echelons:
The first echelon: 985
Zhejiang University, Jilin University, Shandong University, Sichuan University, Peking University, Tianjin University, Chongqing University and Hunan University.
Second echelon: ordinary 2 1 1
Shanghai University, Anhui University, Liaoning University
Third echelon: middle and lower reaches 2 1 1
Guizhou University, Yunnan University, Qinghai University, Tibet University, Xinjiang University, Ningxia University, Guangxi University, Hainan University, Inner Mongolia University
The fourth echelon: double non.
Jiangsu University, Henan University, Hebei University, Shanxi University, Hubei University, Heilongjiang University
(Note: The above ranking is limited to the level of running a school, not the specific strength ranking. For example, Jiangsu University, as a "double non-"strength, has surpassed many universities in the middle and lower reaches of 2 1 1. )
Then, taking the ranking of China University published by the Alumni Association and the two higher education evaluation institutions of soft science as an example, the lowest ranking among the above universities is as follows:
1) Soft Science: Qinghai University (248th in China)
2) Alumni Association: Tibet University (No.315 in China)
Therefore, the weaker universities named after provinces in China are basically between Qinghai University and Tibet University.
2. What is the reputation of Hubei University in China?
Hubei University is a well-known university in Hubei Province and one of the representative universities named by the province. There is only one word difference between the school and Hunan University in the neighboring province, but the development level is completely different. We can look at the contrast between the two:
Hunan University: 985,211,"double first-class" first-class university construction (Class B), second only to National University of Defense Technology and Central South University;
Hubei University: not 985, not 2 1 1, not first-class, ranking tenth in the province.
Generally speaking, Hubei University, as a university named after the province, is indeed a bit unworthy of its name. Not only popular in the province, but also unknown in other provinces. It can only be regarded as a well-regulated university.
