One? Common treatment methods
(1) Once scabies are found, they should be treated in isolation immediately. ? Scabies is highly contagious, and people who live together in a room or a family are easily infected. Even if the person infected with scabies at first is cured after treatment, as long as there are other people infected at home, it will cause repeated infections and lead to prolonged healing time. Moreover, studies have shown that the more people live in a room, the lower the cure rate. If there are more than five people, the cure rate will drop from more than 80% living alone to 50%. So treatment must be isolated. Don't go out during the quarantine.
(2) People who live together must be given preventive treatment even if there are no signs of infection. The treatment method is the same as that of patients, and clothes, sheets, quilts, pillow towels, towels, bath towels, etc. must be boiled at the same time. Sterilize 10 minutes or more at high temperature.
(3) Patients must boil their clothes, especially personal clothes, bed sheets, quilts, pillow towels, pillowcases, towels and bath towels for 10 minutes before cleaning them to prevent scabies from infecting pots and washing machines. These items are not suitable for use. Other items that are in frequent contact should also be disinfected if they can be scalded with boiling water. If it can't be cooked, it must be dried at high temperature. Ordinary washing and drying does not have the effect of killing scabies (putting things in black plastic bags and drying them in the sun above 30 degrees for more than 7 days may be effective). The toilet seat should also be washed and disinfected with boiling water for a long time. Do not use the toilet during the treatment.
(4) Common western medicine treatment methods:
Answer? Metronidazole Ointment or Compound Metronidazole Ointment (Metronidazole Cream): In the research paper "Observation on the Efficacy of Self-made Compound Metronidazole Cream in Treating Scabies" published by Wang Yu and others in the second issue of Dermatology and Venereology in 2005, it was reported that the self-made 2% Compound Metronidazole Ointment was effective in treating scabies. Methods: Isolated patients were wiped from the neck with metronidazole ointment with 2% content made by ourselves, twice a day, for 3 consecutive days 1 course of treatment. After three days of treatment, they took a bath, changed their clothes and bedding, and boiled them with boiling water for disinfection. If the symptoms do not disappear, they continue the second course of treatment and observe the results after one week. The cure rate was 84.7% and the effective rate was 9 1.76%. [ 1]
Zheng Xiaohong and Cao Hongwei from the Dermatology Department of the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University reported in the research paper "Comparison and Safety Evaluation of Two Methods for Treating Scabies" in China Modern Drug Application, Volume 22, No.2, 2008: In order to evaluate the efficacy of 3% metronidazole ointment and 10% sulfur cream in treating scabies, From 2005 to 2007, patients were treated with 3% metronidazole ointment and 10% sulfur provided by Tianjin Pacific Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. After taking a bath, the medicine was applied to the whole body skin below the neck, 1 time in the morning and evening, and 3 days was a course of treatment. The dosage is about 15g each time to maintain the efficacy. The changed clothes and bedding are all boiled to kill insects. Patients receive medication at home or in dormitory. The curative effect showed that the cure rate of two courses was 3%, metronidazole ointment was 98.30%, and 10% sulfur cream was 96.67%. [2]
Metronidazole ointment can be made by ourselves or purchased from pharmacies. But in recent years, there are fewer manufacturers. Hospitals are more self-made.
b? : Sulfur cream. Sulfur ointment is a traditional medicine for treating scabies, which is cheap and effective, but its curative effect is affected by many factors. The treatment is to isolate the patient and apply four tubes of sulfur cream to the skin below the neck every day for three consecutive days as a course of treatment. After three days of medication, change clothes and bedding, boil them with boiling water and disinfect them, and continue the second course of treatment. If it does not heal, continue the third course of treatment. Qiao Yangen and others from the Department of Dermatology, Red Cross Hospital, Puyang City, Henan Province reported in the research paper "Epidemic Situation and Prevention and Control Measures of Scabies" published in China Journal of Modern Dermatology,No. 1 2005 that 3% metronidazole ointment and 20% sulfur cream were used to treat 180 cases of scabies, with three days as a course of treatment. [3]
Sulfur or sulfur content in sulfur ointment also affects the curative effect. Gao Yunxia and others in Fuxin Central Hospital reported in the research paper "Observation on the Clinical Efficacy of Changing the Concentration of Sulfur Ointment in Treating Scabies" published in the second issue of Journal of Practical Medicine and Clinical in 2005 that the clinical effective rate of 10% sulfur ointment in treating scabies was only 59%, while the effective rate of 30% sulfur ointment reached 6544. [4]
Some research reports in recent years also show that the cure rate of short-term use of sulfur ointment is not high. Lin Aibin of Shantou Dermatology Hospital and others reported in the research paper "Randomized controlled trial of sulfur soft soap lotion combined with 20% sulfur cream in the treatment of scabies" published in the third issue of guangdong medical in 2005 (15) that the cure rate of sulfur cream in five days was only 49.2%, so it is necessary to extend the use time. [5]
C: clomiphene citrate cream. The treatment method is the same as above, and the cure rate is above 80% after three courses of treatment.
Lindane cream. The effect is also good. However, it should be noted that the main component of lindane cream is propyl 666, which is an isomer of highly toxic pesticide 666, which is extremely harmful to human nervous system. Therefore, it must be used in strict accordance with the doctor's advice or instructions, and it is strictly forbidden for the elderly, infants and pregnant women. According to foreign reports, some children died after using Lindane ointment.
(5) Common TCM treatment methods:
Traditional Chinese medicine has a long history in treating scabies, and its curative effect is remarkable.
A: Hou of hun yuan People's Hospital reported in the paper "External Washing of Traditional Chinese Medicine Decoction for Treating Scabies 180 Cases" published in the 7th issue of China Folk Therapy in July, 2009 that external washing of traditional Chinese medicine has a remarkable effect.
Methods: The basic prescription: 20 grams of sulfur, 20 grams of cortex pseudolaricis, 30 grams of Sophora flavescens, 30 grams of Fructus Cnidii, 30 grams of Cortex Phellodendri, 30 grams of Cortex Dictamni Radicis, 30 grams of Fructus Kochiae, 30 grams of Rhizoma Smilacis Glabrae, 20 grams of Fructus Xanthii and 30 grams of Fructus Tribuli. If there is secondary infection, add 30 grams of honeysuckle, 20 grams of wild chrysanthemum and 30 grams of dandelion, and use penicillin. One dose a day, decocted in water twice, evenly mixed, and used for external use twice. Before treatment, take a bath with hot water and soap, then rub the medicine, from the neck down, rub the skin lesions first, then rub the whole body, and 4 days is a course of treatment. Don't take a bath or change clothes during rubbing medicine. After the course of treatment, change clothes and bedding, and carry out high-temperature boiling disinfection. If it doesn't heal, repeat the treatment. Usually it will be cured after one or two courses of treatment. During treatment, pay attention to isolation and disinfection. The cure rate is 98%, and the effective rate is 100%. [6]
B: Yu Chunyang and others in Yuji Town Central Hospital, Shangcheng County, Henan Province reported in the research paper "3258 cases of scabies treated by external washing with traditional Chinese medicine" published in the Journal of External Treatment of Traditional Chinese Medicine, volume 16, June 2007 that Sichuan pepper, Fructus Cnidii, Kochiae Fructus, Radix Sophorae Flavescentis and Rhizoma Smilacis Glabrae were decocted in water for three times, and then put into sublimation. One dose a day, five doses for a course of treatment. If the patient is not cured or recurs, continue to use the upper part of the treatment. The curative effect was 30 1 1 case, the cure rate was 92.42%, the effective rate was 247 cases and the effective rate was 7.58%. [7]
(6)? Oral medicine for treating scabies
In recent years, with the emergence of new anthelmintics, doctors have begun to explore the use of oral drugs to treat scabies.
A: Chen Wei and others of Qidong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine reported in the research paper "72 cases of scabies treated by oral albendazole" published in the No.1 1 issue of Dermatology and Venereology in 2003 that 72 cases of scabies were treated with albendazole tablets and 63 cases were treated with 10% sulfur ointment as a control. In the sulfur ointment treatment group, it was applied from the neck to the whole foot every day, once in the morning and once in the evening for 3 days. Follow-up for one week after drug withdrawal. If it is not cured, use/kloc-0 again/course of treatment. Both groups boiled the clothes and disinfected them. After two courses of treatment, the cure rate of albendazole group was 29. 17%, and the effective rate was 73.6 1%. The cure rate of sulfur ointment group was 4 1.27%, and the effective rate was 88.89%. Therefore, albendazole has a certain effect on scabies. [8]
In the research paper "Observation on the Efficacy of Oral Albendazole Combined with External Sulfur Ointment in Treating 58 Cases of Scabies" published in the second issue of China Health Care in 2009, Pingren Ming and Qing in Jianping Dermatology Hospital reported that 1 16 cases of scabies were randomly divided into two groups. Group A was given albendazole 400 mg orally, once a day/kloc-0. Group b was treated with 10% sulfur ointment alone, and the usage was the same as above. The clothes and bedding of the two groups should be boiled and disinfected every day. After a course of treatment, 53 cases were cured in group A with a cure rate of 93. 18%, while 37 cases were cured in group B with a cure rate of 63.79%. Untreated patients continue to use them until they are cured The results showed that oral albendazole combined with external sulfur ointment was effective.
b? Oral ivermectin. ? Feng Baiqiu, a dermatologist of Hongqi Hospital of Mudanjiang Medical College, reported in the research paper "Observation on the Therapeutic Effect of Oral Ivermectin on 42 Cases of Scabies" published in chinese journal of dermatovenereology in the 7th issue in 2005 that 42 patients were given Ivermectin 150μ g ~ 200μ g/kg body weight orally, once every three days, twice. Results 28 cases (66.7%) were cured in 2 weeks, and 4 cases were cured in 4 weeks/kloc-0. The curative effect was remarkable. (But only one manufacturer in China produces ivermectin for human use, and it has stopped production now. )
C: international journal of dermatology and venereology No.02 1978 reported that foreign dermatologists used thiabendazole solution to treat scabies, and the cure rate was 80% when it was applied to the skin for 5 days. The other 8 cases were also effective, and all of them were cured after further treatment.
