1957, Sichuan petroleum exploration team found a huge Mamen Xilong fossil again on Gu Lou Mountain near Taihe Town, Hechuan County, Sichuan Province. It was excavated by Sichuan Provincial Museum, and only 40 boxes were filled with fossils. After research by Professor Yang and others, it was named Mamen Xilong in Hechuan, and the specimen was kept in the exhibition hall of Chengdu University of Technology (formerly Chengdu Institute of Geology).
