Jiaying university is a full-time undergraduate college organized by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, put on record by the Ministry of Education and supervised by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. Jiaying university, formerly Meixian Women's Normal School, was founded in 19 13. 1949, Meixian Women's Normal School merged with Guangdong Meizhou Normal School (founded in 1937) to form Guangdong Meizhou Normal School. In 2000, jiaying university merged with Jiaying Institute of Education (founded in 1980) to form jiaying university.
