Northeast Agricultural University, referred to as "Northeast Agricultural University", is located in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. It is a national "double first-class" construction university, the first batch of "2 1 1 project" construction universities, which are jointly established by Heilongjiang Provincial People's Government, China People's Government and Ministry of Agriculture.

It was selected into the basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions of China, the pilot project of outstanding agricultural and forestry talents education and training plan, and the innovation ability improvement plan of universities. It is the first batch of doctoral and master's degree awarding units in China, a provincial-level high-level university with key construction characteristics in Heilongjiang Province, the "Construction Plan for Aid to Xinjiang", and the first batch of scientific and technological achievements transformation and technology transfer bases in colleges and universities.

1948 was founded in Harbin. The school was originally named Northeast Agricultural College, and successively belonged to the Ministry of Agriculture of Northeast Administrative Committee, the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Agricultural Committee of Heilongjiang Province and the Education Department of Heilongjiang Province. 198 1 was identified as a provincial key institution in Heilongjiang province, 1994 merged with Heilongjiang Agricultural Management Cadre College to form Northeast Agricultural University.

As of March 2022, the school covers an area of 4.964 million square meters, with a total construction area of 123 1000 square meters and a total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment of 764 million yuan.

At present, there are 16 colleges and 1 teaching departments, 10 first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degrees, 22 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degrees, 2 categories authorized by doctoral degrees, 15 categories authorized by master's degrees, 10 post-doctoral research mobile stations, and 2 post-doctoral research mobile stations.
