Jilin University is a national key comprehensive university directly under the Ministry of Education, located in Changchun City, Jilin Province. The school was founded in 1946, 1960 was listed as a national key university, and 1984 became one of the first 22 universities to establish graduate schools.

1995 the first batch of colleges and universities passed the examination and approval of "2 1 1 project" by the state education commission, and were listed in "985 project" in 2006+0. In 2004, it was approved to be directly managed by the central government, and was selected as a national first-class university in 20 17.
