College students dare not doubt reality, especially authority. Just like in Liu's The Head Teacher, they unconditionally believe in national newspapers, televisions and textbooks, and treat economic chaos, political corruption and all dirty social phenomena in reality with so-called materialist dialectics. They can't tell whether the news is true or not. Although they look down on teachers and some celebrities, they dare not doubt the government. They still think in an official way.
There are also some college students who play with the depth of "postmodernism" and take a nihilistic attitude towards all existing thoughts, theories and behaviors: nothing is interesting.
Political apathy and speculation
Today's college students are at least members of the Youth League, but do they have the political ideals and dedication like Paul, Zoya and the Youth Guards? On the one hand, college students express their disgust at current politics, but at the same time, they inevitably take refuge in current politics shamelessly. They hate the weekly "Situation and Political Learning" taught by department party branch secretaries and grade counselors. Gong Lin, a female student of Chinese Department in Peking University, paid 10,000 yuan to Dear Party, which is another example of contemporary college students' political hype.
Facing the irresistible trend of corruption in China, college students are not sad, but once given the opportunity, they will never give up the opportunity of corruption (many of them are now masters and doctors in corrupt posts).
Recently, the general election of deputies to the National People's Congress was held at county level. College students who get the election certificate for the first time have no idea what an election is. Their opinion was brutally raped, but they didn't know it. If someone mentioned the students' vigorous development and enthusiasm in the elections of 198 1 year and 1986, they would find it incredible and criticize it fiercely.
What is even more incredible is the infinite expansion of college students and abnormal nationalism and "patriotism". In particular, anti-American, anti-Japanese, Han and unification fanaticism. On the one hand, they unconditionally support and support the authorities' pro-American and pro-Japanese foreign policy; On the other hand, they enthusiastically read extremist propaganda materials such as "China can say no". They were indignant at the bombing of China's embassy in Yugoslavia and the plane collision between China and the United States, marched in the streets and burned the American flag. For the "911"incident, they celebrated with the evil terrorists, but were indifferent to the massacre of overseas Chinese in Indonesia. But if they have the opportunity to get a visa to the United States, they will be in high spirits and will not hesitate. They enthusiastically support the "liberation" of Taiwan Province Province by force, but it is absolutely impossible for them to put on military uniforms and take the lead.
Loss of academic spirit
It should be admitted that the efforts of China college students in primary and secondary schools are rare in the world, but it is a cruel torture and destruction of their physiology and psychology by exam-oriented education, which is mandatory and painful. By the time they graduated from high school, they had reached the point where they could not stand this life of serving a sentence. So after entering the university, they happily unloaded their burdens and went to the other extreme.
They believe that they should enjoy life as a matter of course, like great national heroes who have conquered the country. They sleep late, skip classes (most classes are really meaningless), surf the Internet, work and fall in love ... but they just refuse to study hard. Speaking of exams, they have no shame in cheating, and their cheating methods can be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. Some universities hold signature activities without cheating before the exam. Students solemnly sign their names, but once they enter the examination room, they still have to cheat without restraint, because if they don't cheat, they won't pass the exam. Nowadays, undergraduates, except for textbooks (or some popular bestsellers), have never read a classic work seriously at all. As for academic papers, they plagiarized and pieced them together at will. They don't have academic consciousness at all, and they can't have it. Everything they do is to get a bronzed diploma, find a job with little contribution but good pay, and satisfy their advanced material life enjoyment.
The academic level of master's degree and doctor's degree can no longer be compared with that of undergraduates in the early 1980s. If we talk to them about academic freedom and ideological independence, they will be even more incredible.
Low moral quality
There are few yuppies among college students in China today, but more are hippies and rascals. They behave like soup and have no basic sense of morality. Don't respect teachers, classmates and yourself.
The teachers chatted, ate chocolate, listened to the walkman, put on makeup, fell asleep, cuddled and talked on their cell phones, and no one was around. However, when celebrities talk to the party secretary, they behave themselves and keep their words. Teachers put handouts or personal belongings on the platform, and they just flip through them during the break. Some students also act as information officers of the Ministry of National Security to monitor teachers' words and deeds in class. When they want to take the postgraduate entrance examination, they will run around the teacher, borrow books and ask questions. Once things change, they will not return the borrowed books and materials, nor will they say hello to their faces. There are not a few masters and doctors who have turned over the seal of the tutor.
Few college students have sincere friends, let alone like-minded. We guard against each other and have no heart to heart. Scandals such as spreading rumors behind people's backs, peeking at other people's diaries, and even stealing dictionaries, books, tape recorders, clothes, and RMB are endless. If they are their own competitors, they will use all kinds of despicable means to compete for lovers, seize the opportunity of further study and study abroad, and kill each other.
It is realistic for college students to fall in love. They value each other's families and their role in themselves. They are in love, live together unmarried, and are irresponsible when they have children. When they graduated, they waved goodbye without regrets.
Some college students go out to work, do not abide by time and credit, perfunctory, cheat, steal economic information, and even sell their bodies and souls.
Physical and psychological defects
Nowadays, college students are very sleepy, and exercising in the morning is only a matter for a few students. In the afternoon, there are always those familiar faces on the court. The performance of the sports meeting is getting worse every year. At present, there are only two kinds of people who are often active in universities: boys who are crazy about football and girls who practice aerobics. In class, students and teachers compete for the elevator.
The psychological quality of college students is not so good. They lack faith, perseverance, enterprising spirit and endurance. If you achieve a little, you will be cocky and get carried away; When they met with setbacks, they lost their fighting spirit and confidence. Even trivial things like lovelorn life, they can't bear it, or they are brutally retaliated or miserable. Nowadays, college students are depressed, degenerate and commit suicide because of their study and life.
Lack of artistic interest
College students' aesthetic ability is extremely low. Their clothes have no taste, and they blindly pursue fashion, sex appeal and excitement. They are aimed at singers, movie stars and celebrities, no different from the handsome guys and beautiful women on the street.
Their appreciation of literature, art and music is even more flattering. They don't like classics. A survey shows that the classics in college students' minds are Jane Eyre and Gone with the Wind. Besides, it is the works of Jin Yong, Wei Hui and other popular writers. For Qu Yuan, Li Bai, Su Shi, Guan Hanqing, Luo Guanzhong, Cao Xueqin, Homer, Dante, Goethe and Tolstoy, apart from knowing their names, they don't read their works at all.
Their artistic accomplishment basically stays in cartoons, and they have no feelings about paintings, sculptures and Chinese and western architectural works. The artistic level of college students' posters and publications is also extremely low.
They don't know classical music, but they like pop songs. Just watch the pop singer's grand performance in Tsinghua, Peking University. There is almost no classical music on the campus student radio station, and the lingering songs of Hong Kong and Taiwan constantly strengthen college students' sense of inferiority. It's hard to have a chorus at a college gathering, because we can't find a song that everyone can sing. The difference in students' level in university art performances is also shameful.
In recent years, universities have frequently expanded their enrollment, only cheating on tuition fees and having no time to take care of teaching; The students originally came for a paper diploma and didn't complain too much. Due to the involvement of money in further studies, the number of official's sons and rich people in universities has increased, and the overall quality and ability of teachers have gradually deteriorated, which is even worse. If this vicious development continues, the surge in the number of college students in China is out of proportion to the sharp decline in quality, and it is not difficult for anyone with a discerning eye to understand what will eventually lead to.
