Central South University covers an area of 3 1.7 million square meters, with a building area of 2 1.7 million square meters.

Central South University, founded in 1952, is a national key university located in Changsha, Hunan Province, China. At present, Central South University has four campuses, namely Lushan South Road Campus, Yuelu District Xianjiahu Campus, yuhu district Jiuhua North Road Campus, Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, and Jinlong Road Campus, Yuetang District, Xiangtan City, Hunan Province.

Central South University, founded in 1952, is the first institution of higher learning in the history of New China with the main purpose of cultivating mining talents. 1995 On April 16, the State Education Commission formally established the New Central South University, merging the former Central South Institute of Technology with Changsha Railway Institute, Xiangya Medical College and Changsha Railway Teachers College, and the New Central South University was formally established.

By the end of 20021,Central South University had 20 colleges, covering science, engineering, medicine, management, literature, law, education and other fields, including metallurgical engineering, material science and engineering, mining engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science and technology, electronic science and engineering, transportation engineering, public engineering and a number of domestic first-class and internationally renowned disciplines.

Central South University has more than 4,500 faculty members, including nearly 100 academicians from China Academy of Engineering and China Academy of Sciences, more than 500 full-time professors 1.300, and more than 1.500 graduate tutors. Many of them have won national awards and even created some important research results around the world.

Central South University is one of the key universities under the "2 1 1 985" project in China, and also one of the universities supported by the "World-class Discipline" list of the Ministry of Education.
