Yanbian University, located in Yanji, the capital of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, was founded on 1949. It is one of the earliest universities established by the China Production Party in minority areas. Yanbian University is a national "2 1 1 Project" key construction university, a key construction university for the western development, a university supported by the Jilin Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Education, and a national "double-class" construction university.

The Hunchun Campus of Yanbian University (rare in the N-line cities of key universities) began enrolling students in 20 17, and enrolled the first batch of junior college students in 20 18. Hunchun Campus currently has only one canteen, Zhiweixuan. The canteen has three floors and is basically complete. If you want to sit, you can go to the commercial street. There will be tea shops selling some desserts, baked sweet potatoes, boiled corn, fried rice cakes and so on. There are two supermarket parks, one on the first floor of the canteen and the other at 12 gate. The teaching building is divided into Honghu Building, Zhiming Building, Kunpeng Building and Wenxue Building. The library is called Runze Pavilion, which is Building C of Hunchun Campus. Although Hunchun Campus and Yanji Headquarters are located in two different cities, they are also members of Yanda University, and there is no difference in their diplomas.
