We will always have dreams, because we can continue to work hard along the way. Just like Pan shared by the author today, from business administration to the School of Architecture of the University of Tokyo, although bumpy, it has not stopped for a moment. It's a long article, but we hope you can read it patiently, and maybe you can give some enlightenment and ideas to friends who failed in the college entrance examination.
? In 2007, I went to an unknown university in Jilin, majoring in business administration. 20 15 received the admission notice from the Department of Architecture of Tokyo University, and burst into tears in the street. ?
I was good at science in high school, but I thought I could be an artist, so I changed to literature. I suddenly fell in love with architecture before the college entrance examination and thought I should study this major. In the past, the architecture department of South China University of Technology accepted both arts and sciences from Guangdong candidates, and the college entrance examination reform only accepted science students, so it missed the opportunity to work with the architecture department of South China University of Technology.
The change of policy made all architecture departments in China stop recruiting liberal arts students. Considering that you may gradually forget the ideal of architecture after entering ordinary colleges and universities, you choose business courses in architectural colleges and universities. Business courses in architecture schools are usually unpopular and neglected, so I think I can always look up to the architecture department during my four years in college to remind myself not to forget my initiative. I rummaged through the application before I found the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture. It's really naive to recall the idea at that time, but the effect is very good.
General schools have a system of changing majors, but our school does not. However, I did make efforts in this regard. My family contacted my teacher through acquaintances and said that they could transfer to urban planning. At that time, I was very happy, at least in architecture, and suddenly I felt so close to my dream. On the day of the high school graduation party, all the students were talking about their majors. They said it would be nice if I could read my favorite major as I wished. At the party, the family suddenly called to say that there was something wrong with the school's academic affairs office and that liberal arts students could not transfer to urban planning. The news came as a bolt from the blue.
I didn't say a word from the time I got back to my seat to the end of the party, and I didn't know what they talked about. I don't know how long it took, so I said goodbye in a hurry. This is the first big turn and blow on the road of chasing dreams, and the coming beauty disappears again, which makes me sad for a long time. I thought about repeating it, but my mood and luggage were all packed and I decided to go to this school. I bought a train ticket from Guangzhou to Changchun the next day, T 122 Express, and I remember it very clearly.
The train took 36 hours, two nights and one day, and I almost crossed the whole China from south to north.

Before I leave, I want to be a diligent listener. Although you can't get a degree in architecture, you can take at least four years of introduction. After school started, I asked my math teacher for leave to listen to an introduction to architecture, and then I found time to make up the content and do my homework and exams as usual. The math teacher was very angry after hearing this, and said that this would not work. I thought he was just paying lip service. Later, I didn't expect that, because I mentioned this to him, he found out that I was not here, and he even called my name to remember that I was absent from school. I didn't care at first, but after several times, the counselor talked to me and said that if I continued like this, I would be disqualified. I was helpless and had to go back to class. After this incident, my behavior was spread by teachers in the college. Some teachers will ask when they call the roll. Oh? You didn't attend his college class, so you have to attend it? Architecture? I had to nod with a wry smile.
The design course of architecture department is a special desk for everyone, so unlike other majors, you can go directly into the classroom and listen in. I went to the dean of the architecture department and asked him if he could add a table for the design class. He used it? There is no such precedent? Turned me down.
In the next semester of my senior year, the school knew that I didn't take the Tongji postgraduate exam, so it set me a lot of difficulties not to go to Shanghai, and I was recalled by the school many times to sign in, otherwise I would be expelled from school. Until now, I still feel puzzled and angry in retrospect. After being rejected by the dean, I decided not to attend any school courses. What can such a school teach us?

When I returned to Guangzhou during the holiday, my father took me to knock on the door in each teacher's studio of South China Institute of Technology and Architecture, and asked them if they could guide me to learn design during the hot and cold holidays. Many teachers thought it was unrealistic, so they politely declined. Finally, Jiang Wenyi, a teacher from the Department of Architecture, promised to take me as an apprentice and arrange some simple hand-drawn exercises and course design, but the effect was not particularly obvious because of the hasty holiday time.
In my senior year, I happened to find that Tongji University had a non-professional course of architectural design. I told the school that I would take the Tongji exam and go there to review for the exam, and the school readily agreed. Prices in Shanghai are very high, but the living expenses given by the family are not much. After that, the eastern and western provinces bought some necessities and a worn-out second-hand bicycle and began to study. Although I didn't get a formal degree, this time I finally really put everything aside and devoted myself to the study of architecture, which was a pleasure that no one else in my class could feel.
Every night, I take a bath by bike, and then go to the study room to draw and read. Although the wind is cold sometimes, it looks lovely. After I came back, I looked at the brightly lit building and the students were still drawing. I thought, why does the architecture department work so late? How tired it is to paint until late at night! But that's good.
It is said that postgraduate entrance examination is the only way to change non-professional courses, and I insisted on graduation, so I decided to apply for the Architectural Research Center of Peking University. In order to prepare for the design of postgraduate quick questions, I joined a training institution in Shanghai. In the postgraduate entrance examination class, I showed my design in Tongji to the teacher, which attracted a large number of students to watch. After I finished the design, the teacher's face slowly turned worse, and then he began to point out various problems in my design and criticize the design for no reason. After that, the students walked away silently, and the classmates would call me? Master? .
Generally speaking, the training mode of the postgraduate entrance examination class is that the teacher arranges a topic, the students draw it below, and then show it to the teacher one by one after painting. When a teacher evaluates a classmate's homework, other classmates will listen around and learn from others. But when it comes to evaluating my design, the students will disperse in a hubbub. I don't give up. I painted every day until the last painting disappeared. Then one day, one of my residential designs? Pick a pool room? It has attracted the attention of teachers, and thinks that this design conforms to the Louis Kahn principle, centralizes the service space, releases the serviced space, and liberates the living room, room, swimming pool and other spaces. His praise slowly attracted the students who dispersed in a hubbub before, and listened to the teacher explain the beauty of this design. What is the next additional teaching building? And then what? Wind and rain playground? Call me when several designs are highly praised by teachers. Master? Students still call me master. When the postgraduate class is over, the teacher will choose some excellent homework and post it on the wall. The best student in the class posted two copies, and I posted three copies.
After the postgraduate entrance examination class, I went back to Guangzhou to prepare for the exam. During this period, Zhang Yi, the senior of the center, and the students of Dong Yugan, the teacher of Peking University, happened to teach architectural history in South China University of Technology. Whenever he gives a speech, I will listen to it. Today, is his view on architectural history correct? Innovation? My point of view, the identity of classical and modern architectural problems, and the abstraction of architectural types have great influence on my design. 20 1 1 At the end of the year, I reported to Mr. Yu Gan, the president of Peking University, and passed the preliminary examination, and finally became the only one of the six people who was brushed off. That night, I stopped Dong outside the classroom. I asked him that I love architecture and fight for it. Why didn't I accept it? He said which student said he didn't like architecture. If you really love architecture, it doesn't matter much if you don't go to Peking University. Although I said a bullshit, I don't know how to refute it at the moment. The dream came close to me again and disappeared. If you go to Peking University, nothing will happen in the future. If a beautiful thing is dying, but you are struggling to catch up, then what awaits you next time must be a better return. It must be like this.

This is the second big turn and blow on the road to chasing dreams. After returning to Guangzhou, I tried to apply for an architectural firm directly. I submit more than 20 resumes every day for about a week, and almost none of the 100 companies come to me for an interview. Finally, three companies sent me an interview notice, namely Source Planning Studio, Fangcheng Architecture, and Foxas Shenzhen Office. I don't know where I got the courage. At that time, I brought a few hand-drawn quick questions, and I didn't even know how to use CAD, so I went. At that time, Foxas urgently needed a resident intern to take photos, hold meetings, write reports and send them to the headquarters in Rome. I was competent for this kind of work, so the architect's career began in Terminal 3 of Shenzhen Airport, and I cherished this opportunity very much.
However, I don't think continuous supervision can make me a designer. After three months of internship, I gave up becoming a full-time employee and planned to teach myself basic drawing software at home. My roommate, one of whom is Zhang Hang, is an architect of Sidi International. After I explained my idea to him in detail, he promised to teach me all the software in two weeks. He doesn't get home until about 12 every night. After giving some simple instructions, he took a bath. Sometimes we take out whisky, light cigarettes and start talking about architecture. We often talk until three or four in the morning, and he gets up for work as usual the next day. In this way, I practice at home during the day and wait for him to come back and comment at night. Soon after, my friend introduced me to Bai Tao as an intern.

During my internship, I learned that Mr. Feng is leading an excellent idealistic team to build a blog studio. I joined a QQ group of Shenzhen architects and asked if there were any colleagues in the studio. As a result, a girl said she was. In retrospect, she was my benefactor. Her name is Qian Feng, and she graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Now she has been studying for a master's degree at Milan Polytechnic University. I sent her a portfolio and asked her if she could introduce me to the studio. She said yes, but she asked me to change my portfolio, and I said yes. Two days later, she sent me a message. Lao Feng said that the studio is full now, so let me see if anyone is interested in other departments in Zhu Bo. I told you, please take two sentences to Mr. Feng, without making any changes: first, I am only interested in your studio, and I will not consider other departments; Second, if you don't let me see you this time, I will find you anyway. I was given a message the next day, and General Feng asked you to come for an interview.
When I first met Mr. Feng, I told him that I was not nervous. He asked me why I like architecture. What is architecture? I say this because I want to express my thoughts in a material and visual way. He said that this is an idea that architects feel inferior. They think that the ideas in their hearts are very important and should build personal monuments. He believes that architecture should find social problems and solve them. Then we talked for about two hours, and he criticized the' things' in my portfolio. I heard someone say that when he talks to you for a long time and criticizes you, he will hire you. But then he said that my current level was not enough, and I would feel inferior if I went to the photo studio, at least the picture was not good enough. I said it doesn't matter. I'm still practicing in Bai Tao. After the internship, I will do another edition of my portfolio, and then you will judge.
After my internship in Bai Tao, I worked at home for four months and re-expressed all my previous designs. During my stay in Zhang Hang, I met an excellent Shenzhen architect, Luo Qi, and now he has become my good friend. He constantly gave me guidance on my design, and even personally helped me to change the model. I once asked Roach if you were really interested in changing this design. He said, I'm just interested in helping you. It moved me deeply. After the portfolio was completed, I contacted Lao Feng again, and he told me to go to work the next day.

When I first arrived at the studio, I was often scolded by Lao Feng, who scolded me very hard, and sometimes I felt like a man. However, I think it is growing rapidly under such pressure. Sometimes you don't have to say it many times like a school teacher to change it. I will remember it once and never dare to do it again.
In May 20 13, the studio received the renovation design of Hall B of Shenzhen-Hong Kong Biennale. Because this is an unconventional design, Lao Feng thinks it is a good opportunity to test my ability. With the guidance and help of my colleague Ouyang Chenlu, I participated in the whole process to make it land. The renovation of Hall B of Biennale became the first project in my career and the first completed work.
Later, under the leadership of AARON, the founder of the studio, I finished it again? Yixin children's playground? 、? Liu Xiandong's urban design? And then what? Shenye Taifu Plaza? Many projects range from indoor to urban design. Lao Feng and Aaron dragged me hand in hand from a child who knew nothing to an independent project architect now. I have always regarded them as teachers. If I hadn't met such a good boss and colleague, if Lao Feng hadn't been hired as an exception, what would I be like today?
From July, 2065438 to July, 2004, I was selected as an intermediate private school summer school organized by China Institute of Architectural Design and presided over by Academician Cui Kai. In the workshop, I got to know another teacher, Chai, and eventually became my recommender for applying for Dongda University. Design of learning workshop? Moriya? Finally, it was well received by teachers and won the 20 14 Hope Cup Excellence Award. In the same period, I also participated in the Newsstand Competition of the Young Bird Program. What works? Flower umbrella? Advance to the top four in the country; Recently? Designed specifically for Fushun? In the game? Ring of the pond? And entered the top 30 in the country.
On October 20 14, 165438+ 10, I submitted my research plan to the G30 master course of the Department of Architecture of the University of Tokyo.

2065438+At 6: 29 p.m. on February 26th, 2005, I ordered a cappuccino in the coffee shop downstairs of the company, leaned against the bar as usual, brushed my mobile phone while listening to the music in the store, and suddenly burst out laughing uncontrollably, only to hear Pu Shu's singing in my ear:
? Wandering, on the road, are you leaving? Viavia
Fragile, proud, that used to be me.
Boiling, restless, where are you going? Viavia
Mysterious, silent story, are you really listening?
I used to?
The moment I took the coffee, laughter turned into crying, and tears flowed down my face uncontrollably.
E-mail from the University of Tokyo is displayed on a blurred mobile phone screen. We are honored to inform you that your application has been successful. ?
In 2007, I packed my bags and made a distant decision. Today, 20 15, I'm going to a distant place again.
