Liu Bannong (189 1- 1934)
Liu Bannong, the eldest brother of Liu's three brothers, was originally named Shou Peng and later renamed Fu. He was originally a semi-farmer, later changed to a semi-farmer, and later named Qu An. He was born in Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province, a pioneer of the New Culture Movement in China, a famous writer, linguist and educator in modern times.
Liu Bannong loved reading since he was a child, with outstanding literary talent and intelligence. /kloc-0 entered the middle school attached to Changzhou in 1907. 19 1 1 was hired as a teacher by Hanmolin primary school in 1997, and joined the revolutionary army in the same year.

From 19 17, Liu Bannong began to work as an editor in New Youth magazine to promote the vernacular. In the same year, he was appointed as a professor of Chinese Department in Peking University.

The following year, he transferred to the University of Paris in France to study experimental phonetics. 1925, Liu Bannong received a doctorate in French national literature, and was the first China native to receive the highest academic title in the name of a foreign country.
In the same year, Liu Bannong's Experimental Records of Chinese Pinyin Characters won the French Constanyine Volney Linguistics Award. That year, after he returned to China, he was hired as a professor of literature in China, Peking University, and a literary tutor in China, Peking University College. During this period, he founded the Language and Music Law Laboratory and was the founder of experimental phonetics in China.
From 65438 to 0934, Liu Bannong went deep into remote areas and got to know the dialects of Suiyuan and Inner Mongolia. Unfortunately, he caught relapsing fever on the way. After returning to Beijing, he did not get good treatment, which delayed his illness and died in July of the same year.
Liu Tianhua (1895- 1932)
Liu Tianhua, the second brother of Liu's three brothers, was originally named Shouchun, and was born in Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province. He is a famous composer, performer and music educator in modern China.
Liu Tianhua studied in Changzhou Middle School in his early years and was a member of the school's military band. He is good at playing the trumpet and flute. During the Revolution of 1911, Liu Tianhua returned to his hometown, joined the Jiangyin Anti-Manchu Youth League and played the bugle.
19 12, Liu Tianhua went to Shanghai to work with Liu Bannong. He once joined the Enlightened Drama Club and joined the Universal Music Team. During this period, he studied western musical instruments, orchestral music, piano and violin. , and made an in-depth study of western composition theory.
19 14, Liu Tianhua was employed by Huashu Huacheng Primary School, and then entered Changzhou Middle School and Jiangsu No.5 Middle School to engage in music teaching. During this period, Liu Tianhua actively learned pipa, erhu and guqin from folk artists, and deepened his understanding of traditional folk music in China.
After 1922, Liu Tianhua went to Beijing to teach, and successively served as a music professor in the Music Department of Peking University Conservatory of Music, Beijing Women's Teachers College and National Art College. Besides teaching, Liu Tianhua humbly consulted many famous musicians and wrote many famous works.
1932, Liu Tianhua unfortunately contracted scarlet fever and died of illness in Beijing.
Liu Beimao (1903- 198 1)
Liu Beimao, the third son of Liu's three brothers, was originally named Shou Ci, a native of Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province, and was a famous erhu player, composer and educator in modern times.
Liu Beimao was influenced by his two brothers since childhood, especially under the careful cultivation of Liu Tianhua. He has a deep understanding of all kinds of Chinese and foreign musical instruments. After Liu Tianhua's death, he inherited his brother's legacy of "improving the Chinese music scene" and continued to work hard in the music scene.
Liu Beimao studied in yenching university and later taught in Jinan University, Peking University and Northwest United University. During this period, he actively created music and composed more than 100 erhu songs, which was known as "the master of national music".
