Although the Open University of Hong Kong is small, there are thousands of students, and there is almost only one building in the whole school, which truly realizes that there are dormitories, classrooms, restaurants and libraries upstairs and downstairs!

The Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK), formerly known as The Open Learning Institute of Hong Kong, is a statutory university located in Ho Man Tin, Kowloon, Hong Kong, adhering to the spirit of "teaching without distinction" and "combining leniency with severity". The university was established by the Hong Kong government in 1989. Its headquarters consists of four colleges, namely, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Lee Shau Kee Institute of Business Administration, College of Science and Technology and College of Education and Language.

The qualifications awarded by universities from bachelor's degree to postgraduate level are recognized by the Hong Kong SAR Government. The Open University of Hong Kong is the only self-funded university founded by the Hong Kong government. At the beginning of its establishment, it was a distance higher education institution. Now it can be said that the two universities are integrated into one and diversified. Full-time courses have been offered since 200 1, and students have been recruited in universities since 2007. At present, there are more than 9,500 students studying full-time degree courses in The Open University of Hong Kong, accounting for about one sixth of Hong Kong undergraduates. The current headmaster is Professor Huang Yushan.
