Quanzhou Vocational and Technical College is a provincial full-time undergraduate college organized by Fujian Provincial People's Government, a demonstration application-oriented undergraduate college in Fujian Province and a first-class application-oriented construction college in Fujian Province (Class B).
The earliest school-running history can be traced back to 1957. It was formed by the merger of Fujian Economic Management Cadre College, Fujian Accounting Management Cadre College, Fujian Political and Legal Management Cadre College and Fujian Financial Vocational and Technical College, and was formally established with the approval of the Ministry of Education on March 20 10.
As of March 2023, the planned campus area of the school is 1388.4 mu; There are 13 secondary colleges, 2 teaching departments and 44 undergraduate majors. There are 843 full-time teachers and nearly1.5000 full-time undergraduates.
Application-oriented university refers to an application-oriented undergraduate institution of higher learning that focuses on undergraduate education, as opposed to the concept of academic university. There are two directions for running an applied university, namely, application-oriented and applied research (academic) hybrid. Whether a university is an academic university or an applied university mainly depends on which plays a decisive role: academic and application.
From the relationship between academic and application, the higher the academic level, the stronger its application ability. Application-oriented universities should improve their application level as well as their academic level. The difference between them lies in the different nature that plays a decisive role; Personnel training objectives are different; Teachers have different quality requirements.
