Power equipment is widely used in various fields of national economy such as machinery, electric power, petroleum, chemical industry and light industry. Ensuring the efficient, safe and low-pollution operation of power equipment is the main research content of energy and power discipline. The discipline of energy and power engineering has great influence on the development of national economy.

The major of Energy and Power Engineering College is one of the earliest engineering majors in our school. 1958, enrolling undergraduates majoring in thermal engineering and internal combustion engine in power plants. 198 1 was awarded the master's degree by the State Council in the first batch.
