High voltage and insulation technology is one of the two major disciplines of electrical engineering. The main research direction is based on the insulation state of equipment, involving gas breakdown, solid/liquid breakdown, gas discharge plasma, partial discharge, surface discharge and other directions. The employment direction of this major is mainly distributed in electric power research institutes, design institutes and provincial and municipal power companies, and the employment rate has always been high.
Introduction:
As a first-class discipline, electrical engineering includes five two disciplines: electrical machinery and appliances, power system and automation, high voltage and insulation technology, power electronics and power transmission, electrical theory and new technology.
* * * Six institutions of higher learning, including Tsinghua University, Xi Jiaotong University, Chongqing University, Zhejiang University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and harbin university of science and technology, were rated as national second-class key disciplines. Among them, Tsinghua University, Xi Jiaotong University, Chongqing University, Zhejiang University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology are all "985 Project" universities, while Tsinghua University, Chongqing University and Xi Jiaotong University are famous universities in two disciplines.
Among them, Chongqing University High Voltage is the trump card major of Chongqing University. It has the State Key Laboratory of Power Transmission and Distribution Equipment and New Technology and won the only 5★ honor in the 20 1 12 national graduate report evaluation ranking. Xi Jiaotong University is an old school of high voltage and insulation technology, and has the State Key Laboratory of Electrical Insulation of Power Equipment.
