Hu is a professor, senior researcher and doctoral supervisor of Qiushi Institute of Advanced Studies, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University. 1992- 1996 studied in the biology department of Peking University and obtained a bachelor's degree in this major, then went to the University of California, Berkeley, USA, and obtained a doctorate in neurobiology under the guidance of Corey goodman in 2002. In 2009, he joined the Institute of Neuroscience, China Academy of Sciences, and worked in Zhejiang University since May 2005.
