Guidance center:

As one of the two school-level learning guidance centers of Southwest Jiaotong University, the English Learning Center will provide all students with all kinds of English learning guidance, build a platform for English practice and cross-cultural communication, and build a learning system of "teaching, learning, management, testing and evaluation" to comprehensively improve our students' awareness of cross-cultural communication, English application ability, TOEFL, IELTS, postgraduate entrance examination and CET-4 and CET-6.

Main functions:

The main function of English learning center is to provide all students with an open foreign language learning platform based on computer network and high-quality extracurricular learning guidance. At the same time, relying on "English Salon" and "Foreign Language Autonomous Learning Center", language activity training aimed at improving English application ability is carried out. Through the dual-track system of online resources and offline activities, students are provided with three-dimensional and all-round English learning guidance and training in addition to the main teaching activities.

At present, the college has developed into a multi-level teaching and research institution for training junior college students, undergraduates, master students and doctoral students (joint training). At present, there are key undergraduate majors in English, Japanese, German and French, as well as master's programs in linguistics and applied linguistics in English, Japanese and German.
