Content of ancient poetry: A letter from a thousand miles away is just a wall. Why not make it three feet tall? The Great Wall of Wan Li is still there today, but I haven't seen Qin Shihuang.
Letter from Home is a seven-character quatrain written by Zhang Ying in Qing Dynasty. The famous sentence "Why not let him be three feet" comes from this poem.
Zhang Ying and Zhang's father and son are generally called "big and small photos". Zhang Ying is from Tongcheng, Anhui. In the early years of Kangxi, he was a scholar, edited by the Hanlin Academy, and served as a bachelor of Wenhua Hall and a minister of rites. In the thirty-eighth year of Kangxi, he received a bachelor's degree in Baiwenhua Hall. Zhang Ying was diligent and cautious, and won the trust of Kangxi. Kangxi praised him: "Always cautious, with the demeanor of an ancient minister." His mentor is "hard work and contentment." Looking at this biography, it is really a kiss with the story of tearing down the wall and comity.
Extended data:
The story of Zhang Ying, a great scholar at Wenhua Temple, took place during the reign of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty. In Tongcheng County, Anhui Province, there is an anecdote: Zhang Ying, then prime minister, and his neighbor Ye Xiucai went to court for the boundary of the Great Wall. Because Zhang Yingjia wants to build a house, the border is close to Ye Jia. Ye Xiucai suggested that the Zhang family set aside a middle road for access.
However, Zhang proposed that the title deed of his family stated "to the wall of Ye surname". Now it's okay to hit the wall according to the deed. Even if we have to leave a way, both families have to retreat a few feet. Brinton was an official in Beijing at this time, and his son Zhang (a famous minister in Yongzheng and Qianlong) was also admitted to Jinshi and became an official in the DPRK. The specific affairs of my hometown are handled by the old housekeeper.
As the saying goes, "the prime minister has seven officials." This old housekeeper feels that he is the head of the Prime Minister's family. Besides, the wall is well founded, and the opinion of a poor scholar in Ye's family is not worth answering. So a new wall was built along the root of the Ye Jia wall. This Ye Xiucai is a stubborn temper. When he saw the Zhang family building a fence, he couldn't swallow this breath. The scholar can write by himself, and a paper-like proclamation reached the county government, and a lawsuit was started.
Soon, I received a reply from Zhang Ying. There are not many words in the letter, only four poems: "A thousand miles to build a book is just a wall, why not let him be three feet?" The Great Wall of Wan Li is still there today, but there is no Qin Shihuang. "
After reading this poem, the housekeeper understood the master's meaning, so she went to Ye Jia and told Ye Xiucai that the Zhang family would tear down the wall tomorrow and step back three feet to make way. Ye Xiucai thought he was teasing him, but he didn't believe it at all. The housekeeper showed Ye Xiucai Zhang Ying's poems. Ye Xiucai read this poem and was very moved. He even said: "The Prime Minister has a good appetite for punting, and Prime Minister Zhang is really generous."
Zhang Ying (1637— 1708) is a native of Tongcheng, Anhui province, whose ancestral home is in Jiangxi. Minister of Qing dynasty, father of Zhang. In the sixth year of Kangxi, he chose Jishi Shu, a college student in Wenhua Hall and a minister of rites.
He has been the master book of compiling national history, unifying local chronicles, deepening books, political codes and pacifying the desert. In the forty-seventh year of Kangxi, posthumous title died.
Anecdotal allusions:
Six-foot driveway
During the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, there was a dispute between my hometown and my neighbor Wu family on the issue of homestead, because both homesteads were ancestral businesses, and no one would make way for them. The two sides took the lawsuit to the county government. Because both sides are prominent aristocratic families, the county government dare not settle it easily.
So the Zhang family went all the way to Beijing for help. Zhang Ying criticized a poem after receiving the book: "A thousand miles to write a book is just for the wall, why not let him be three feet?" . The Great Wall of Wan Li is still there today, but I haven't seen Qin Shihuang. "The zhangs' be suddenly enlightened, back down three feet. The Wu family was deeply moved by the scene before them, giving up three feet and forming a six-foot wide alley. ?
Thrift helps the poor:
On Zhang Ying's 60th birthday, his wife is going to hire a troupe to sing a "church party" and hold a banquet for relatives and friends who come to celebrate her birthday. When Zhang Ying learned about this, he strongly disagreed with him in persuading his wife to give up this plan. He used the money to make 65,438,000 pieces of silk underwear and gave them to the poor people walking on the road.
