Kaifeng University, located in Kaifeng, a famous historical and cultural city in China and the ancient capital of the Eight Dynasties, was founded in 1980. It is a full-time ordinary college approved by the Henan Provincial People's Government, put on record by the Ministry of Education and sponsored by the Kaifeng Municipal People's Government, covering six disciplines: engineering, management, literature, economics, medicine and art.

The school has 2 projects to improve the development ability of professional service industry in higher vocational colleges supported by the central government, 6 provincial majors and 8 provincial "professional comprehensive reform pilot" majors;

This project is a 1 national excellent online open course, with 6 provincial excellent courses and 1 provincial excellent resources. The school has 307 training bases inside and outside the school, 3 vocational education training base construction projects supported by the central government, 2 provincial demonstration training bases and 1 provincial demonstration comprehensive training base for higher vocational education.

The school board actively explores the long-term mechanism for all sectors of society to support and supervise the development of the school. 1994 established the board of directors of Kaifeng University with Dr. Li Jinsong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hong Kong Jinxin International Group, and established school-enterprise cooperation relations with more than 40 units such as the Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta.
