Rainbow Chamber Singers was founded on 20 10. It was originally organized by the students of the command department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Later, it gradually absorbed chorus lovers from all walks of life and developed into a vibrant, fast-growing and exploratory youth music group.

The chorus motto "Nature follows nature, elegance and sincerity" comes from Matsuo Bashō's understanding of haiku. Matsuo Bashō transformed the original humorous and vulgar harmony into poetry literature that can be compared with orthodox and classical China's poetry and chorus.
