Hiroshima University is a national university, not a public university.

Hiroshima University is a first-class comprehensive research-oriented national university, and its headquarters is located in East Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. Founded in 1874 and 1949, it merged with seven other national universities in Hiroshima and a municipal university in Hiroshima to form a new university. In 2004, the National University was incorporated, reaching 2065438+. Hiroshima University has three campuses: East Hiroshima, Xiamen and East Maeda. Hiroshima University was selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as a Class A top university in the Super International University Program, and was selected as a member of the Japanese and Swiss Graduate School of Excellence Program and Mirai Program.
