Art specialty students refer to candidates who have outstanding talents in a certain art field (vocal music, instrumental music, dance, drama, calligraphy, painting, etc.). Candidates who want to obtain the qualification of art specialty students must first take the unified examination for art specialty students (the unified examination is usually the provincial joint examination), and the results of the provincial joint examination will serve as the main basis for colleges and universities to recruit art specialty students. Registration for the exam generally ends at 10, and the exam is held at 12.
The test items are divided into vocal music, instrumental music, dance, drama, painting and calligraphy. Candidates can choose one of them to participate. Test scores are divided into qualified and unqualified. After the candidates pass the unified examination for art specialty students, they generally take the examination organized by the institutions that recruit art specialty students. Generally, colleges and universities that enroll students will organize the test of artistic talents individually or jointly, and some colleges and universities recognize the test results of other colleges and universities. Candidates who pass the exam should sign an agreement with universities and enjoy the corresponding preferential treatment in the college entrance examination.
