Who is Peng Dezun?
Peng Dezun (1902165438+1October1-1April 2 6, 1993), a native of Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province, is a famous physicist and educator. He is one of the important contributors to physics in China and the world, and is known as "the father of theoretical physics in China". Peng Dezun experienced wars in two countries all his life, but he still insisted on scientific research and imparting knowledge, leaving a valuable scientific heritage and an image of a model teacher's morality.

Peng Dezun 1936 graduated from Peking University and studied under Mr. Li Zhengdao. Later, he went to the United States for training, followed many excellent experts to study and carry out research, and obtained the professorship of University of California, Berkeley at 1960. During his stay in the United States, Peng Dezun repeatedly contacted and cooperated with other important physicists in the world, and constantly expanded his scientific field and influence. During the Cultural Revolution, he resolutely returned to the motherland and became an academician of the China Academy of Sciences, becoming the only academician in the scientific community at that time.

Peng Dezun has made many outstanding achievements in physics and other scientific fields, led the research of atomic physics and condensed matter physics in China, and made important contributions to the development of contemporary physics in China. His contribution has won many international and domestic honors and awards, such as the highest honor of American national scientific community, American National Science Award, Russian Begemann Prize, China Science and Technology and many other national honors.
