The College of Literature of Jinan University is located in the main campus of Jinan University, namely Guangzhou Campus. The College of Literature of Jinan University was founded in 1929 and is one of the earliest colleges in Jinan University. At present, there are four department-level teaching and research units: China Language and Literature Department, History Department, China Institute of Cultural History and China-foreign Relations Institute.

At present, the College of Literature has three undergraduate majors, 1 national key discipline (literature and art) and four provincial and ministerial key disciplines (literature and art, Chinese language and literature, specialized history and ancient history of China).

As of March 2020, the college has three undergraduate majors and three postdoctoral research stations; There are 3 doctoral programs in the first-level discipline of two disciplines, and there are 3 doctoral programs 16; There are 3 master's programs in first-class disciplines, 2 master's programs in aesthetics two disciplines and two disciplines 16, and 2 master's programs in professional degrees.
