Sungkyunkwan University has a long history. As a famous institution with a glorious history of more than 600 years, its history can be traced back to Sungkyunkwan University, the highest institution of learning in the Korean dynasty established in 1398. It is the first national educational institution. Sungkyunkwan University now consists of two campuses, Seoul and Shui Yuan, with more than 3,460 faculty members and more than 23,000 students.

The departments include economics, management, semiconductor engineering, mechanical engineering, energy science, advanced institute of nanotechnology, media communication, Korean studies, Confucianism and so on.
