Victoria College of McGill University, the predecessor of Victoria University, was founded in 1903. It is the oldest college in British Columbia. At that time, as a post-secondary education, it provided the first and second years of humanities courses at McGill University for students in BC, Canada. 1963, Victoria College obtained university status and changed its name to Victoria University. The representative colors of Victoria are red, gold and blue, and the mascot is Viking. The motto of Victoria University is "Let the world be full of light" and "Many wise people make the world healthy".
