The new library of Guangxi University was completed on1October 20th, 2002+165438, and officially put into use in 2003. The new library is a national debt project supported by the central government for the development of higher education in the western region, sponsored by Dr. Li Ka-shing, Chairman of Hutchison Whampoa Limited. With a building area of 32,338 square meters and 3,634 reading seats, the library has the largest building area, the most advanced facilities, the highest degree of modernization and the best network conditions in Guangxi in the same period.
