Xi 'an University of Technology, referred to as "Xi University of Technology", is located in the ancient capital of Xi, and was founded in May 2005 1949. Its predecessor was Shaanxi Institute of Machinery, which was formed by the merger of Beijing Institute of Machinery and Shaanxi University of Technology in June 1972. In June, it was renamed as Xi University of Technology 1994 with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
The school is one of the key universities in the National "Basic Capacity Building Project for Colleges and Universities in the Midwest", one of the first "Excellent Plan" universities of the Ministry of Education, one of the key universities in Shaanxi Province, and one of the 24 universities expanded by the Dean Association of China Graduate School. It has State Key Laboratory, National Engineering Research Center, University Science Park and other scientific research facilities. The school has three campuses in Jinhua, Qujiang and Lianhu and a university science park, with a total area of 1 352,000 square meters.
