Shandong University Weihai School of Journalism and Communication
In June 2004, Weihai Branch of Shandong University was established as a college. The original Chinese Department was renamed School of Journalism and Communication (now renamed School of Cultural Communication). There are teaching and research institutions such as Chinese Department, Journalism Department, Institute of Language and Literature, and Institute of Journalism and Communication. The college enrolls undergraduates majoring in Chinese language and literature, journalism and teaching Chinese as a foreign language, masters majoring in comparative literature and world literature, modern and contemporary literature in China, Chinese language and literature, literature and art, ancient literature in China and journalism aesthetics, and doctoral students majoring in comparative studies and world literature. In 2002, comparative literature and world literature, China philology and China modern and contemporary literature were awarded as key disciplines of Shandong University. In 2005, journalism was awarded as the key discipline of Shandong University Weihai Branch.
