It is clearly pointed out: "The undergraduate course is temporarily set up as follows: (1) Department of Economics, (2) Department of Economic Planning, (3) Department of Finance and Credit Lending (abbreviated as" Finance and Credit Department "in some documents), (4) Department of Trade, (5) Department of Cooperatives, (6) Department of Factory Management, (7) Department of Law, and (8).

These are the earliest eight undergraduate departments established by Renmin University, which are customarily called "eight major departments".
