On College Students' Entrepreneurial Experience —— An Interview with Guo

When he was a freshman, he realized economic independence, and his monthly income was not less than 3,000 yuan. He personally trained student leaders of student union presidents in 30 colleges and universities, and planned and held large-scale inter-school performances and commercial activities many times. He was the founder and chief consultant of integrated marketing experts in colleges and universities in the E era ... What made him grow from a childish college student to a social person with his own career? What made his career step by step towards success? This issue of Cookie Chat Window takes you into Ru Shan Xin Rui.

Responsible editor (hereinafter referred to as responsible editor): Hello everyone, welcome to the cookie chat window. The word "college students" represents a new productive force in this society. The survival and development of a country and society are closely related to them. With the gradual formation and improvement of college students' self-values and outlook on life, more and more college students have chosen the road of self-employment. However, because college students lack a comprehensive understanding of society, many college students will encounter many difficulties and even fail when starting a business. In this issue, the cookie chat window invited Guo, the founder and chief consultant of integrated marketing expert in E era and the chief consultant of college students' quality development club. Before chatting, let's learn about Guo's entrepreneurial process.

Guo is now the founder and chief consultant of integrated marketing experts in colleges and universities in E era, the founder and chief consultant of Stud management consulting company, the chief consultant of quality development club for college students, and the head of Guangdong office of China-Hong Kong Interns Association. Freshman began to achieve economic independence, with a monthly income of not less than 3000. During my college years, I personally led more than 20 teams, directly managed more than 1 000 people, personally trained 30 college student union presidents, and met more than 4,000 senior student cadres organized by various schools. And in the four years of college, the sponsorship fee for the school was 654.38+10,000. Many large-scale inter-school performances and commercial activities have been planned and held. After graduating in 2006, he held more than 200 lectures in colleges and universities within two years, which was recognized and supported by many college students. He was the second president of the Public Relations Association of South China Agricultural University, the vice president of the School of Resources and Environment of South China Agricultural University in 2002, the founder and director of Feng Yun Studio, and the founder and operation director of E Times Studio.

According to incomplete statistics, as of May 30, 2008, Guo had provided free advanced training for more than 20 universities and more than 200 student organizations, including Sun Yat-sen University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, South China University of Technology, South China Agricultural University, South China Normal University, Guangzhou University, Guangdong University of Technology, Guangdong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Guangdong Pharmaceutical University, which greatly improved the quality of student organization cadres.

Editor: After listening to these introductions, I believe everyone will be shocked by these data. Few college students can achieve such results. So, how did Guo do it? Please welcome our guest: Guo.

Guo (hereinafter referred to as Guo): Hello, I'm Guo.

Editor: Hello, Guo, welcome to the cookie chat window. Everyone is very surprised at your performance. What is the reason why you take the road of outreach? What influenced you?

Guo: Because I think outreach can not only exercise your ability, expand your career, but also expand your contacts. Besides, my family is basically engaged in business activities, and most of them are individual businessmen. The business atmosphere at home is also one of the important factors that affect my development.

Editor: Well, we also know that you graduated from Shenzhen Senior High School, won the first prize in Shenzhen in the National Olympic Chemistry Competition, and won many awards such as "the star of the subject" in the school. But also achieved quite good results in the university. Do you think there is any difference between high school and college?

Guo: There are three main differences between universities and high schools. First, college is freer than high school. Many things in high school are restricted by parents and teachers, while universities often need to make their own judgments and draw conclusions, and their self-control ability and ideological requirements have improved a lot. Second, in high school, everyone was still a simple-minded student, but the university is a semi-society, and you need to deal with more things besides studying. More often, you should be an independent person and be responsible for your actions. Third, compared with high school, universities can exercise a lot of extra abilities besides studying, and personal values and outlook on life are also constantly formed at this stage, which will determine everyone's future.

Editor: After hearing what you said, there are still many differences between universities and high schools. Those students who think that they can relax and enjoy life when they go to college seem to have to get to know the university again. Now there is a popular saying in universities: "If you choose to avoid compulsory courses, you will avoid elective courses." How to treat this phenomenon?

Guo: It's normal to skip classes. The position in the student organization is directly proportional to truancy, but I don't like to describe it as truancy. I use vacations more. (But) about truancy and lying! There is such a story that a mother said to her son, son, you can't lie! As a result, when my son 18 went to college, my mother was very worried. Son 18 years old, can't lie. What should I do? Really think about it. If your son 18 years old can't lie, shouldn't you be worried? By the same token, a person with his own values, if he can't skip classes selectively under the current university system, can't adapt to this society like a person who can't lie. The cleverness of China people lies in that those who know treachery and don't use it casually are loyal subjects, while those who don't know treachery can only be fools and can't be useful people. So do girls. Those who know how to be charming but don't flatter excessively are ladies, those who don't know how to be charming become village girls, and those who flatter excessively are prostitutes (Ji). As one of my younger brothers said: If I can find a good job as a so-called "good student", I think I must be a good student. If I can achieve something through "studying hard", I will study hard as soon as I choose.

Editor: (Laughter) Guo explained the phenomenon of skipping classes for us with a very vivid metaphor, but we should weigh everything and advise students not to skip classes easily. Then when you are a student cadre, you will certainly encounter such a question: "That is how to deal with the choice between students' work and study?" This is an inevitable problem for student cadres, but there are still many student cadres who can't handle the relationship between them well. What's your opinion?

Guo: Actually, it's a story about fish and bear's paw. Many people think that you can't have both, but what we need to understand is whether we want fish or bear's paw. I think we need to find a balance between work and study. Of course, you need to know what your future development direction is and devote your time to things related to your goals and ideals. Sometimes it can be said that work is just another kind of learning, and learning is also another kind of work. Personally, I think that no matter what you do, you should do something related to your goals, whether it's study or work.

Editor: Indeed, as the saying goes, you can't have your cake and eat it, and a clear goal can make us make the right choice. At present, there are many competitions like career planning competition in universities, in order to let students learn to plan their own life path. Have you planned your college life?

Guo: You can refer to my series of articles on "College Career Planning" published online. Universities must plan for this. There must be at least one direction and goal. As for how to achieve it, just think about it and do it. Of course, this is a hard process, so many people think more and do less.

Editor: As you said, starting a business is a very difficult process. What kind of influence or help do you think the accumulated experience in college life has on your career?

Guo: I was deeply impressed by the experience accumulated in college, because your perspective and method of handling things will be greatly improved, and your vision and thinking will be broadened.

Editor-in-Chief: It seems that you should actively participate in student activities and accumulate your own experience when you go to college. I know that when you just graduated, your job was in New Oriental, promoting quality development courses for college students. Are you still promoting quality development courses for college students in your present job?

Guo: I now have my own studio in Ruxin, because I think working for others is not proportional to my income. I am more eager for freedom and improving work efficiency. The reason that prompted me to choose this road is very simple. I will choose a trend industry and market to work, and at the same time this profession can give full play to my talents and specialties and realize my ideals.

Editor: It seems that you are very innovative and challenging! But the road to entrepreneurship is full of difficulties. Many people will complain ... and they will regret choosing this road. Have you ever regretted it?

Guo: There are many medicines in this world, but there is no regret medicine, so you must not regret it, because regret is useless, but people should reflect and sum up. Whenever you regret it, it is time for you to complain. Successful people don't like complaining. What keeps me going is ideals and responsibilities!

Editor: Indeed, since you have chosen, you should stick to it. You mentioned earlier that your family has a great influence on you. What is your family's attitude towards your entrepreneurial journey? Support? Objection? Or neutral?

Guo: (Laughter) Family members have both opposition and support. Parents know the hardships of starting a business, so many times they want you to be stable. There is a rule that if a good thing is known and supported by 5% people, you should work hard at once. If 20% of people say yes, you just need to know. If 50% of people say yes, you can ignore it. But as long as my parents don't object, believe me.

Editor: Family support is the greatest encouragement to entrepreneurs. Now let me ask you a question that most college students are concerned about now: What do you think a person needs to start a business? When you choose an entrepreneurial partner, what are the requirements for choosing a partner?

Guo: (thinking) I think it takes courage and determination. Entrepreneurship is a road of no return. You should be able to stick to what you think is right. I don't ask much of my partner. To put it simply, I need to have the same values, and my abilities and specialties can complement each other.

Editor: As far as I know, there will be such a problem in today's entrepreneurial groups, that is, some people quit halfway. What do you think of this situation? If this situation appeared in your team, what would you do?

Guo: Many people have given up, but I think everyone has the opportunity to choose their own life and life. Only people with the same values can come together. (Seriously) I will respect their choice.

Editor: The success of a team venture also depends on team spirit. Everyone's choice has their own reasons. So the last question: What do you think are the blind spots of college students' entrepreneurship now? Why are these blind spots?

Guo: This problem can be summarized as four points: 1, which is too pessimistic or optimistic and lacks experience and adaptability. 2. There is no good platform and operation mode. 3. Being too eager for quick success and instant benefit, starting a business is a hard process. You can share weal and woe, but you can't be rich. These blind spots are caused by the characteristics of youth, society and post-80s generation.

Editor: OK, thank you for coming. I hope that through the conversation with Guo, I can clear the clouds for the majority of college students, clarify the direction, and better build my own life path. At the end of the chat, let's listen to the message from our classmates to Guo.

For more than a year, I haven't had a clear goal. Sometimes I feel confused and don't know what I want to do. Over time, I will feel very decadent in retrospect. Compared with my senior brother Guo, I set myself a clear goal from the moment I entered the university, that is, to become the number one public relations officer in the school. There is no doubt that he succeeded. I feel very ashamed. I can't do this anymore. I want to study as much as Than Shwe's brother to enrich myself and learn English well. Don't waste four years in college. Brother Guo has a lot to learn from me. I will try my best to get rid of some of my shortcomings and catch up with Brother Guo.

-Yu Jieying

What I feel most is that you must find your own advantages and develop your own! There is also interpersonal relationship, and a huge interpersonal network will bring you great help.

-Chen Yajie

Brother Guo's success lies in his interpersonal relationship, his mentality and gains in learning and managing knowledge, and his reasonable arrangement of personal time. After listening to this lecture, I felt a lot. I should learn from brother Guo!
