What do normal schools study?
In addition to training middle school teachers, normal schools also include Chinese, mathematics, English, physics, chemistry, politics, history, geography, music, physical education, fine arts, computer and other majors, as well as primary education for primary school teachers, preschool education for kindergarten teachers, special education schools, secondary vocational schools and many normal majors in colleges and universities. Teachers' majors are divided into general, art and sports according to the categories of application. With regard to the requirements of elective subjects, except for a few science majors, most normal majors in most universities have little restrictions on elective subjects.

According to the admission batches, the enrollment of teachers' majors can be divided into advance batches, the first batch of undergraduates, the second batch of undergraduates, the third batch of undergraduates and specialist batches. Each batch has a teacher's professional enrollment plan. From the perspective of enrollment institutions, it can be roughly divided into several categories. First, several normal universities directly under the Ministry of Education, such as Beijing Normal University and East China Normal University, universities that recruit normal students from comprehensive key universities, such as Suzhou University, and provincial key normal universities, such as Nanjing Normal University, are generally arranged to enroll students in this batch. Second, Yancheng Normal University and other provincial normal universities, Nantong University and other comprehensive universities recruit normal students, generally in this second batch of enrollment. Third, independent colleges with enrollment plans for normal majors, such as Xinglin College of Nantong University, enrolled students in this third batch. Fourth, Lianyungang Teachers College and other normal colleges generally arrange enrollment in a single batch. In addition, the second batch also has a few enrollment plans for normal majors.
