Haruko Bao Fang Jr. was born in Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture on 1983. She studied in Matsudo No.6 Middle School and Dong Bang Higher School affiliated to Toho University. In April 2002, she passed the AO entrance examination (different from the national college entrance examination in Japan, students were selected by applying for voluntary materials, written examination and interview, which was equivalent to the independent entrance examination in China), and Bao Fang Haruko Jr. entered Waseda University, majoring in applied chemistry, and graduated in March 2006.

During her college years, Bao Fang Haruko's research mainly focused on the field of microbiology. After entering Waseda University as a graduate student in 2006, under the guidance and cooperation of Professor Yamato Yasuhiro of Tokyo Women's Medical University, the research direction of Haruko Kobayashi of Waseda University turned to the interdisciplinary research field of medicine and engineering. Yamato Yasuhiro is a professor of regenerative medicine at the Institute of Advanced Biomedical Sciences of Tokyo Women's Medical University and co-author of Keiko Kobao's paper. In 2008, Bao Fang Haruko Jr. obtained a postgraduate degree in applied chemistry from the Graduate School of Science and Technology of Waseda University.

During 2008-2009, Bao Fang Haruko Jr. studied in the laboratory of Professor Charles Vacanti of Harvard Medical School during her doctoral studies at Waseda University, and engaged in the study of universal cells. Charles Vicanti is an expert in anesthesiology and tissue engineering at Brigham and Women's Hospital of Harvard Medical School. His most famous achievement was the first birth of human auricular cartilage on the back of mice in 1997. After graduation, Xiao Baofang Haruko still keeps in touch with her. On 20 14, the author of the STAP cell article of Xiaobaofang Haruko is Charles Vicati.

On October 20 10, Haruko Kobayashi returned to Japan, and on March 2011,Haruko Kobayashi joined the research team of Wakayama Akihiko of Japan Institute of Physical Chemistry and became a visiting researcher. 20 13 was promoted to the academic leader of the comprehensive research center of developmental regenerative medicine of Japan Institute of Physical Chemistry.
